- Word of the day: geiriadur.ac.uk/gpc/gpc.html?h… ‘a duck’ Moch dysg nawf mab hwyad. A proverb from the Red Book of Hergest (1400): a duckling soon learns how to swim. The point is that we soon learn the things we do by instinct. Swimming is not natural for us, as it is for ducks!
- Word of the Day: prifardd geiriadur.ac.uk/gpc/gpc.html?p…. In this instance it refers to a chaired bard at a National Eisteddfod, namely Dic Jones, who died on this date in 2009. He was one of the most well-known Welsh poets of the last half century.
- Word of the Day: ysgythru geiriadur.ac.uk/gpc/gpc.html?y… A verb dating back to the 12th century, meaning to cut or hack (off), prune and clear, or graze, scratch, carve, engrave, inscribe and draw.
