Gah, I keep neglecting this thing. Anyway, Otakon was this past weekend, and I think I'm still in a bit of a brain coma from it, haha. I forgot how massively overwhelming that con is. *_* But lots of cosplay fun was had, and I now have two things I need to draw. One is Alexis Hargreaves and his epic bubble pipe and the other is this conversation from the Weiss Kreuz gathering:
Omi: Can I get a puppy? Aya: No, you have Ken. Ken(me): Hey! What am I, the team mascot? Aya: Yes. Ken: ...I walked right into that one, didn't I?
Good times. XD Also met some awesome people, and I already have cosplay ideas for next year. Which definitely involve more Weiss and Godchild.
Now, I think I'm going to watch a little Fushigi Yuugi and then pass out. Maybe I should put Hotohori on my cosplay list for next year's Otakon. I do love pretending to be a pretty, pretty bishie...
Durarara!! you are my new addiction. It's like if Baccano! had a relatively coherent timeline and took place in modern day Japan instead of 1930's America. And it has the most amazing cameo EVER. Seriously, it's up there with Bill Murray's cameo in Zombieland.
So, I decided to do something today that I haven't done in a really long time. Go on a little Quizilla spree. Whoooo~
Firo's a class-act kinda guy. He's a gentleman, and will treat you right. He'll take his time, since he doesn't want to intimidate you, and you'll have a very sweet romantic life. Baccano! Match Quiz <3

So, just realized that my birthday is next Sunday (not this coming one, but the next). I seriously don't know how it snuck up on me like that, but it did. Maybe it's because there isn't anything spectacular about turning 22. Other than the dorky fact that that's the age Aeris is in the original Final Fantasy VII game, which did give me a little case of the giggles/holy crap-ness, since according to the game booklet thingy her birthday is also Feb. 7th. Maybe I should avoid guys with spiky blonde hair this year...
Meh, ignore me, I'm rambling. I, like, haven't slept because I've been trying to get Fai's blue coat done for Ohayocon this weekend, and I've probably had way too much caffine. And on that note, I should go put together the main bit of the coat before I pass out. I'll add the trim and make the belt once I've gotten some sleep.
Sooo, I got bored, started looking for Weiss Kreuz wallpapers and stuff on Photobucket. Quick note for those who don't know: Weiss Kreuz is an anime about four young men who are florists by day, assassins by night. Yes, florist assassins. It is epic cheesy, campy, angsty fun. I'd call it my guilty pleasure if I weren't such a raving fangirl. There is nothing secret or guilty about my love for this series. xD Anyway, the artwork for Weiss Kreuz has a reputation for being...odd. I never really realized just how true this was until tonight. But before I get started on that, I'll show you my favorite character, and one of the few pieces of Weiss art that actually makes sense. For reference (from left to right): Ken Hidaka, Aya Fujimiya, Omi Tsukiyono, Yohji Kudou
Picked up my copy of Dissidia Final Fantasy the other day. Looooove it. That game is pretty much fanservice incarnate. Seeing Sephiroth get the tar kicked out of him by the Warrior of Light is much more satisfying than anything in FFXI. Or better yet, getting the tar kicked out of him by Tidus (take THAT Mama's Boy McEmo-Pants). And Zidane coming out of nowhere and tackling Garland (who is voiced by Chris Sabat xD) will never get old or cease to amuse me. The controls are fairly easy to get used to and so far the game is a good balance of difficult and easy (I haven't quite finished it yet, just need to complete the Warrior of Light's story mode). Most of the music is taken from previous Final Fantasy games and just given a new arrangement for Dissidia. And the new arrangements are pretty awesome (Clash on the Big Bridge from FFV is my favorite). I also think this game has turned me from simply considering Firion (FFII) one of my favorite Final Fantasy main characters to honest-to-goodness Firion fangirl. I'm sorry, but his dream about creating a world where Wild Roses can bloom in peace is so...sweet. And honest. And not emo. And the scene where Terra and Cloud decide the that'll also be their dream is adorable. Especially when Terra starts talking about how they won't just fill the world with wild roses, but every kind of flower. D'aaawwwwwww. I'd also like mention that, despite how sweet, kind, and insecure Terra is...sweet moogle butts, I would not want to piss her off. Her attacks are easily some of the most powerful in the game.
Some other games I'm playing:
Eternal Poison - *drool* First and foremost, the character designs in this game are absolutely beautiful. The whole game has this Gothic, Victorian-ish fantasy feel to it, and it really works. For me anyway. xD I'm not very far in it yet, but so far the story is really interesting. The only downside I've noticed is that it can be kind of...repetitive, combat wise. It has a grid based system, similar to Final Fantasy Tactics and Jeanne D'arc, but I found the fights in those games to be more engaging. Maybe it's because terrain doesn't really factor in to Eternal Poison the way it does in those games. But despite that, it's still a fun game.
Rogue Galaxy - I'd heard a lot of good stuff about this game, so when I found it for, like ten or so dollars I decided why not. And OMG. This game is so much fun. It can be pretty challenging sometimes, but in the way that just makes you want to play more. The graphics are crisp, and I love the cell shaded look it has. And it's about space pirates. Space pirates who have a ship that looks like a real sailing ship. <333 I don't care how impractical it is. It looks awesome.
The World Ends With You - Again, I'd heard a lot of good stuff about this one, so once I got a DS I decided to try it out. It took awhile for me to get the hang of it, but once I did it is so much fun. I'm almost at the end of the game (having a hard time, no pun intended, beating "Shades"...it would be so much easier without him going "TIME BE STILL" every few minutes), so if you read this and have beaten it please no spoilers. The fact that the story keeps you guessing is one of the reasons I love it.
Aaand that's it for now. I get to go back to SC to visit my family for the long weekend! Hopefully I'll be able to catch up with some of my friends too while I'm there.^^
Have I ranted about Kuroshitsuji yet? About how freaking amazing it is? About how much I want a demon butler like Sebastian? I love stuff that takes place during the Victorian era, which was what initially caught my interest about Kuroshitsuji. And I was completely hooked after watching the first episode. It goes from dark, to side achingly hilariously, to heartbreaking so effortlessly, and the characters...oh my word, the characters. They're all so delightfully eccentric, you can't help but love them. I'm pretty sure Grell would give Leeron from Gurren Lagann a run for his money in a "gayest anime character of the year" contest (his crush on Sebastian will never cease to amuse me), and Tanaka is made of pure win. And steam, apparently. And Ciel is adorable, and little, and grumpy, and kinda scares me sometimes, but that's why I love him.
I won't start on Sebastian, because if I do I'll end up a quibbling puddle of fangirl on the floor ("quibbling"? Is that even a word?).
Those of you who know me well probably know that I'm not really one for political stuff. I'm honestly a little surprised by this myself.^^'' If you're wondering what caused the change, the answer would be the protests, riots, and demonstrations over last week's presidential election in Iran. I don't watch a lot of TV, or read the paper much anymore, but the media really hasn't been giving this proper cover. I don't think I can fully or properly explain things, so I'll direct you over here.
