"Project Tiger Moth: The Good Old Days" is a fan made Thomas & Friends episode by Jacob Jarrett aka FlyingPringle and Robert Magee aka WoodenRailwayReviews, with most of the crew behind this short also being behind The Magic Railroad Parody. This video is notable for using actual Gauge 1 props similar to the TV show.

Toby is feeling glum and hasn't taken any passengers with Henrietta for weeks, only shunting trucks in the yard. He is given a chance to take a load of building supplies to a worksite at the new mainline extension. But as he is about to take a train full of scrap back to the yard, he gets into a spot of bother but finds a nostalgic surprise waiting for him.

This video contains examples of:

  • Double-Meaning Title: 'The Good Old Days' refers not just in-universe for Toby longing for his old branchline and eventually finding it, but also out of universe for the fans watching the video which is reminiscent of the model series of Thomas, especially the classic era.
  • Downer Beginning: For Toby, he's been feeling glum as he hadn't had any passengers with Henriette for weeks.
  • Kick the Dog: After Toby explained to Gordon about his life on his old line and how it got shut down, Gordon rudely says that branchlines are useless extensions and is a little unsympathetic towards him.
  • Mythology Gag: The special was released with a US dub and a UK dub, much like the original series, with the men narrating the dubs, Robert Magee and Tom Marshall respectively, sounding like Alec Baldwin (who narrated Seasons 5 and 6 in the US) and Willie Rushton (who narrated most of The Railway Series) respectively.
  • Oh, Crap!: Just as Toby was nearing the top of the hill, the weight of trucks suddenly began pushing him down.
  • Pet the Dog: Noticing that Toby is sad that he hardly had anything to do, Thomas suggests that Toby can take the train of building supplies for the Main Line extension.
  • Runaway Train: Very briefly when Toby attempts to take the train of scrap and tree branches back to the yard. He pushes the train up the hill but it's too heavy for him and the trucks push him down. We even get a never-before seen custom "eyes closed tight" face for Toby.
  • Stock Footage: When Toby relays his story to Gordon, footage from "Toby and the Stout Gentleman" is featured.
