Computer Showdown is a YouTube series created by Computer Clan in 2007.
It consists of various personified operating systems and programs, known as Syms, who all fight for their own causes. More often than not, however, this occurs with the whole world at stake.
The series ran on the Computer Clan channel until the final completed episode was released in 2014, which teased a planned overhaul of the show with Season 7.0, but it ultimately never came to be.

Now you're in for it, suffer the wrath of our tropes!
- Calling Your Attacks: Every Sym shouts the name of the attack they're about to use, which is usually related to the technology that the Sym represents.
- Commuting on a Bus: Fluxbuntu and Gobuntu become mysteriously absent after Season 3.0 until they briefly reappear during Season 6.0 in Episode 43.0, where they have a conversation about the state of their lives since the Haliance came into power.
- The Empire: The Haliance, a group formed by AIRA, which rules over the Virtual Barrier throughout Season 6.0.
- Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": Windows's girlfriend is only ever referred to as "Windows's girlfriend" or "Windows's GF" throughout the series.
- Homage Shot: The ending of Season 5.0 contains a word-for-word retelling of Half-Life 2's ending, with UNIX and Apple taking the place of G-Man and Freeman respectively. The lead up is also very similar, with an explosion that's cut short by UNIX taking Apple out of the situation.
- Origins Episode: The Prologue, which shows how Windows was created and how the war between Syms first started.
- Pink Girl, Blue Boy: Lisa is pink (later purple and gray) while Finder is blue, like his real life counterpart.
- Pink Means Feminine: Windows's girlfriend looks exactly like Windows, just with a shade of pink. The trope is downplayed with Lisa, who is colored gray in addition to pink.
- Plot-Inciting Infidelity: It's shown in the Prologue that the war between Syms started when Windows discovered that his girlfriend was flirting with Finder.
- Previously on…: Most episodes of Season 6.0 open up with a brief showcase of clips that highlight what happened in the previous episode. This is subverted in Episode 10.0, as an error message prevents a recap of events from playing and skips straight to the start of the episode instead.
- Public Domain Soundtrack: The early seasons make heavy usage of the sample music from iMovie.
- Red Alert: After Windows, Finder, and Sun are introduced to GNOME in Episode 41.0, an explosion can be heard in the distance, when the alarms within the D-Force's base go off. A distressed transmission from Mandriva reveals that a security breach has occurred at the access tunnel, which Kubuntu responds by telling them to call in all the guards while he goes to check the tunnel. Tux attempts to get Windows, Finder, and Sun to a safe place, but a few Chrome Guards enter the room they're in before the four Syms can do anything, which results in a showdown taking place between the two groups of Syms.
- Repetitive Audio Glitch: In Episode 14.0, the To Be Continued screen recreates a kernel panic from Mac OS X, which includes the skipping audio that's often part of one.
- La Résistance: The Distro Force, shortened down to the D-Force, which is a resistance formed by Tux and led by GNOME to gather intel and bring down the Haliance.
- Suddenly Voiced: While the Season 2.0 finale and parts of Season 5.0 had some select voice acting done for certain Syms, every Sym is voice acted starting from Season 6.0.
- To Be Continued: This caption appears at the end of many episodes, to the point that it appeared Once per Episode throughout Season 4.0 with the additional caption "(As always)" underneath it.
- Ye Olde Nuclear Silo: The D-Force's outpost in Season 6.0, as explained by Kubuntu in Episode 41.0, is a repurposed military base that originally belonged to the Commodores during Cyber War II. While the inside of the building is never shown, it's stated that the place has been polished up since they got ahold of it, and that most of it is deeper underground.
- Argh! NO!!!
