Basic Trope: A character who can change their form in some way never has their real form appear.
- Straight:
- Alice is a Master of Disguise whose true appearance is never shown on screen.
- Emperor Evulz is a Body Snatcher who has stolen bodies for years. His original body is never revealed.
- Downplayed: Alice only shows her face when disguised and while her body is shown when out of disguise her actual face doesn't appear.
- Justified: Alice has stopped using her true appearance.
- Inverted: Alice is a Master of Disguise who is only shown in her true appearance, and never shown in a disguise.
- Subverted: One of Alice's disguises is later revealed to be her true appearance.
- Double-Subverted: It's later revealed that Alice lied about it being her true appearance, and what she actually looks like is never shown.
- Averted: Alice's true appearance is shown.
- Defied: Alice is forced to show her true appearance.
- Played for Drama: Alice was cursed to never be able to turn into her true form, which she is bitter about because she can only appear as other people.
