I am looking for two VERY specific photos.

One of alex turner and miles kane, and one just of Alex

The one with both of them is from 2007 i believe, they're both wearing shorts (alex has suuuper short ones) and sunglasses i think, and there's a girl between them

The one with just alex is from the humbug era (so 2009) with prettyyyy long hair, BIG sunglasses, a gray (?) tshirt, and once again SHORTS

I've been looking for both of rhem for so long idk what to do so yeag

Jet Skis on the Moat

I am listening to TBHC and The Car pretty much on repeat this week and after reading a few analyses of Jet Skis on here (will try to link them later, don't have them handy right now), I thought I'd add my own thoughts. I'd mostly been thinking why jet skis, why a moat, so these thoughts are heavily about that.

The TL;DR is: What if Jet Skis on the Moat describes a side relationship (with a "buddy") running parallel to any officially presented self. The theme of nighttime for the lover and daytime without them once again makes an appearance as well. Overall the song is reminiscing about the singer's life and the relationship with the lover boy is a part of that.

I think that boils down more to “is camp queer?” And “is drag queer?” and if you say yes to both of those then you can realistically say hes queer, and if you say no to either of those, you can at the very least be aware that as a cismale presenting individual he is still comfortable with playing around with pronouns and clothing in ways that cismen typically aren’t comfortable enough doing.

bruh. this pinball thing is getting out of hand. i was going through puppets interviews to cite an essay i’m working on, and i noticed something i never noticed before.

miles sees alex doing the flipper motion, and he’s about to say, “like a pinball machine,” then alex says, “pinballing around.”

first of all, their quick shorthand telepathy shit really just…. makes me wanna pull my nosehairs out. but also, the pinball machine kink is really gonna drive me nuts. you have “pinball machine’s on mute”. the whole TILT thing on The Car tour. and the fact that i coulda sworn i read that jamie at one point was interested in fixing up arcade pinball machines at one point?????

My sister pointed out something ive never considered

1) Alex see himself as the pinball machine

2) to mute the pinball machine is to mute himself, to hold a secret

3) To fix a pinball machine would be like playing as his therapist

4) TILT is a pinball strat that is both encouraged as a pro strategy but also, simultaneously, cheating. The game is to not get caught because if you do you lose the whole game.

I'm late to this, but is the consensus that this is fake? Because to me it all sounds in-character for post-car Alex lol. If this person is making it up then they've got a good feel for what Alex is like (in my opinion).

But also, damn if he wrote an entire album about saying goodbye to the past and then he says, in 2024, "I wish I were in 2016" even "jokingly", that's a big ouchie 😣 Maybe he wishes he had the same energy from back then?

Anyway if it's all fake then nevermind I guess. It just fits really well with my current image of him.
