in honor of father’s day, i’m thinking of an au where tom had won the first wizarding war and had been ruling for years. but a few decades later, news of another rising dark lord spreads, challenging his power and creating rebellion amongst wizarding britain. attacks on the ministry, his loyal followers and strongholds — the coward always seemed to escape him before he arrived at the scene. and yet, voldemort realized as time went on and the treasonous acts increased, that the residual magic left behind seemed akin to his in sheer strength and essence. his magic which was like no other in comparison to any wizard or witch in the world. it is no wonder, that once he finally confronts this great sorcerer, that it is to his suspicion this usurper is indeed the secret child he had abandoned long ago. one he had not spared a single thought to, a child born from a spontaneous and mistaken night of passion. though to his previous assumption, to his silent surprise, it was no wizard… but a witch.
“we finally meet, father.”
you had expected a different reaction from the man. but upon gazing at his blank and handsome face, your own falters slightly. you should’ve known you would get no such response — this was lord voldemort after all. though you didn’t know whether to admire or despise him at this moment.
“hm, i suppose it all makes sense now,” the infamous dark wizard you have been looking forward to meeting your whole life — training and preparing for this moment, to overthrow him or to finally have his attention — to get the answer to the question you’ve been asking yourself your whole life once you learned the identity of the man who had sired you spoke as if the knowledge or rather the person in front of him was of no importance, but a nuisance.
“why exactly you are so extraordinary,” the dark lord suddenly smiled — and you find yourself being the one taken aback by the unforeseen instead.
“of course, you’re mine.”
