I just feel like it's weird how much critical feminist analysis exists of male fantasies, how these are shaped by social factors and how they don't exist in a vacuum... And then people come and defend rape fantasies For Women™ and somehow brand them as "feminist" by arguing that "most women have rape fantasies". Can we have a little self-awareness please.

I do think it's hard to tackle this topic. It's easier to condemn rape fantasies when the fantasy in question involves being the perpetrator. People don't know how to approach it when it comes to fantasies about being the victim of violence. It's uncomfortable. It might feel like victim-blaming. So it goes underdiscussed.

IDK, honestly I don't think I am myself fully equipped to approach the topic because I'm not an expert of any kind. I just think it's good to have open conversations about it in feminist circles.

I just want to raise a few points:

  1. The fact that erotic literature for women mostly caters to these fantasies is often used as "proof" of how women are somehow predisposed to this kind of fantasies. I wanna ask, is it common in erotic literature because it's naturally popular among women, or could it be that this is a common fetish because most erotic content aimed at women features it?
  2. I think the bioessentialist idea that women are biologically inclinated to have rape fantasies is very stupid, so I'm not even gonna engage with it. Therefore we have to recognize that rape fantasies are a product of external influences. We live in a society where social factors -whatever those might be- make it so it's extremely common for women to develop fantasies about being degraded. Is that something to be celebrated? Isn't this kind of fucking sad?
  3. What kind of argument is "Most women do it, so that makes it good", anyway? This is the same kind of thing people say to defend make up or weight loss pills.

I don't understand why some people believe that media criticism is important Except when it comes to porn, and that porn as a category should somehow be exempt from media criticism bc it's made for titillation.

I don't think porn is uniquely evil and corrupting, but the idea that it's exempt from criticism is so weird. We should treat it just like any other category of media, I think.

Hello, maybe I'm misremembering but did you do some sick odd taxi fanart a few years ago or am i thinking of someone else? 😅 I think it was of yano specifically (and also if so, do you ever post your art online)

I don't currently post art online, but I did draw Odd Taxi fanart while it was airing. This was what I like to call "The Yano disease era", which was a great time of my life.

These are all the ones I posted + some I have never posted before as a bonus. They are all from 2021:

IDK if this is what you were looking for, but enjoy.

STOP THE PRESSES I forgot a very important one:

People love saying "hehe I'm an archivist" and then "archive" things on discord servers

When you feel discomfort at a marginalized group but feel that expressing so would be wrong, it is very common to come up with "progressive" justifications for non-involvement.

Oh, no, my non-involvement with Black art is because I'm not Black. Black people have gone long enough dealing with appropriation and people like me (non-Black) have taken up enough Black spaces enough. So really, I'm actually doing a good thing by non listening to Black music, watching Black movies, reading books by Black authors.

No, you see, trans people are so chronically fetishized and belittled that it's normal for me to feel suspicious and wary to see trans people in sexual contexts, intimate contexts, nudes, artwork, etc. It would be best in fact if I did not engage in erotic or romantic works involving trans people at all.

The insidious part of these kinds of justifications is that they are often based on actual issues that minoritized people will openly discuss, but have a convenient "side effect" (really, it's the Whole Point) of allowing you to silo yourself away from groups you are not involved with or comfortable around while patting yourself on the back saying you're actually doing a good thing by segregating your tastes, hobbies, and preferences to an exclusive diet of mainstream hegemonic art

It is so unsettling that Obama has killed thousands via drones covered up that children were being killed and families were wiped out and relatives have to live with the fact theyll never get justice and now I have to see people repost his reading list every year. Liberals would be horrified if Putin did something like that but when its Obama or Bush or Clinton they just dont care

Was scrolling on Pinterest and I think I found the worst The Picture of Dorian Gray book cover ever
