Some of you have correctly identified Sleep Token as one of Jude’s major inspos. They and HEALTH are my headcanon sounds for his voice/the band! HOWEVER they’re both pretty well known so I’m on my hands and knees begging you guys to check out one of my all time faves.

Another band whose storytelling is a big inspo and deserves SO MUCH MORE ATTENTION!! If you know me I never shut up about them: Zeal & Ardor!

Is there a story behind Ken going by Ken instead of Chase? Is it context-dependent which name he uses? Was just curious after seeing all the Kenlaine comics/art and then noticing the name Chase in the coterie lineup!

It’s context dependent! and kind of an oopsie when tagging the two of them. When I first made Ken, I hadn’t taken into account that he probably would be using an alias as a vampire! Meanwhile when we came up with Elaine we also first intended it to be her real name. Since then we think it suits her more as her alias/pen name. So their tag(s) are kind of funny now - it uses ken’s real name but elaine’s alias lol.

Ken’s real name is Kenneth Pearson. He goes by “Chase” after his embrace. Elaine’s birth name is Latisha Monroe! Elaine Dubois was a pen name her toreador publisher (long story and he sucks. Will be the first plot beat when I publish their fic) recommended.

Both of them miss using their real names. Ken uses his alias as an excuse to dehumanize himself. Elaine prefers being called ‘Lainey’ because it still, at least, has an “La’ sound kind of like Latisha.
