Lord, how could I forget?

You are the One who took all my broken pieces and made a mosaic. You are the One who has stayed by my side even when no one else would. You are the One who gives me rest when I’m aching, and gives me peace when my mind wanders. You are the One who gives me power to overcome the problems I create for myself. You are the One who fills my life with joy, and surrounds my heart with love. I love you for all You’ve done, all You are doing, and for everything You have yet to do.

I desire to get married someday. I desire to have a family of my own. But I have to continually remind myself that although it’s good to desire these things, I must always desire God more. I must always desire Jesus before and above all things. I cannot lose focus of Him in the process. There is more to this life than being married and having kids—and it is knowing Christ personally. Even if I get married someday and have kids, even then I must still desire God more. He is the foundation of everything—the beginning and the end.
