I do think hummer is wrong about wifies only wanting to be the one who solves leviathan. I think the 2025 April fools video shows more of the mentality he goes into unfiction with— of course he wants to solve it, but way more than that, he wants to weave a story from all the disparate parts and when there is no story it frustrates him to no end. it's simply not a good game for arronax to be fully right, even though he agrees that she has her fingers on the pulse. he wants to be one of the pieces that plays the game that will then tell a story. it's the role he explicitly plays in SFAWTDE as the one who finds all of Derek's secret codes to push Avery forward, and the role he implicitly plays in the other ARG videos by setting up the knowledge base to invite conversation and narrative drive. he has rarely successfully solved anything; everything is speculation and analysis, very little is ever confirmed directly. so I think when he says he wants to believe in the leviathan, he's being honest— he doesn't believe, but it's a better game, better story if he does, and he wants to create a very good story beyond even his want to believe. belief is only as good as how far it'll drive your piece across the board.

a tiny part of me wants to theorize Hummer IS Levi. in some way, some form. Maybe he didn't know. maybe he did. But the fact that he was SO happy that someone else cared like him. Was searching with such vigor, such dedication, just like him. FOR him. just.yeah. KICKS ROCKSS
