I have a sequel to this that might be posted.... Eventually. But that one is pretty angsty and would you believe it's even more text heavy. I have an excuse though!! I started as a fanfic writer and then moved to comics! 🥹 I like wordsssss. Also I'm not sure how to end the sequel sooooo rip me I guess

Notes I went a little off book from what this trope usually looks like and it really ended up being more like a different prompt on the big BTHB list (don't want to say what for spoilers), but it IS the idea I got thinking about this square and it is a lot about honesty so... hopefully that's fine haha.

when it's too much for jokes, leo's stress response tends towards total silence
like when they got stuck in the turtle tank in cloak and swaggart, leo's method of freaking out is Floor
no witty banter with shredder. after a final oneliner, barely reacts to anything in the prison dimension... only starts speaking again when he sees his brothers...

Love when people point interesting stuff about Leo like this… someone else pointed out how he always goes to an adult when things come down to him. Like in Flushed but Never Forgotten or Portal Jacked when his brothers are gone, instead of trying to solve it himself or directly hide it from authority like in typical-teenager-tv-show-hi-jinx, he goes directly to them for help. His brothers or others might think he’d try to save them himself because he acts like he thinks so highly of himself and wants to be their champion/hero, but when it comes down to making sure his family is safe and his bros are returned to him he’s putting all that on the back burner and focuses up. Not even just because he really wants to find them, but when he’s alone he doesn’t need to put on the facade.
The other side of his personality really gets hidden behind the face man a lot of times and I feel like it’s why he’s so different than what the people around him usually expect.
