The Pomni situation is interesting.
Originally I had planned for them to be like, distant but become friends.
But thinking about the Circus plot from the perspective of the side characters (where Annabelle lives), it’s actually really hard to imagine her not getting progressively more frustrated with Pomni. Particularly with how she handles Jax vs Everyone else.
I could fill this with specifics, but to keep it brief.
-The way she sidelines everyone else (especially Ragatha) while dumping all of her energy and time into Jax. Because “they’ll always be there” vs. “He needs me, I can fix him,” just really makes Annabelle feel like Pomni takes everyone for granted.
-And the way she gives a pass to most all of Jax’s bullshit, while being super quick to Jump on Ragatha’s case for getting mad during softball (and some other things that are comic specific). It really gives her the impression that Pomni values him and his emotions over everyone else.
There will likely be a blow up at some point. Because ya girl will get tired of being treated with ‘side character’ importance.
P: “Everyone here had problems with eachother before I showed up, you can’t expect me to side with you or Ragatha all the time”.
A: “No I can’t. BECAUSE EVERY [$&@?] TIME YOU SIDE WITH THE [$&@?][?&@!] RABBIT WHO TORMENTS US FOR FUN. We barely get anything beyond a ‘teehee Jax stop it 🤡👉👈” then you’re right back by his side! Never a “Hey Ragatha you doing okay after … everything that happens to her?”, “Hey Ann you doing okay after Jax used your sensitive gender stuff to blackmail you into being ‘his’ torment [$&@?] for weeks?”, “Hey Gangle how are you doing after that mask gimmick induced manic episode?”
I would expect a friend to side with us OCCASIONALLY. To maybe give a [!&@?] about how we are doing. but clearly that isn’t you 👉”
She doesn’t hate her, but she thinks she is a bad friend. And takes advantage of the fact that nobody has any better options, to put the bare minimum into the relationships she expects to still be there when she wants them
