From Gaza to Ireland: Survived but Nightmares Make me Wish to Die

Before I open my heart to you guys, please check out the vetting/verifications posts below.

1. @el-shab-hussein and @nabulsi # 151 on the spreadsheet of Vetted Gaza Fundraisers List

3. My latest blog titled "Traumatized in Ireland While my Family is Facing Death and Starvation in Gaza" shared widely HERE

The short video will give you a quick glimpse of my story: 1. A young university lecturer in Gaza

2. Then displaced with my family and losing our house

3. Then traveled to Ireland to study and try to support and evacuate my family.

Every night I sleep in Ireland while my family sleeps under bombardment face starvation, fear and the cold of winter in tents.

People sleep to rest. I sleep to see nightmares.

Every night feels like a horror movie I must live, not watch. I wake up tired, shaken, and broken by the images my mind creates.

I had an amazing stable life with my family in Gaza before the war turned our world upside down.

I was a young, ambitious lecturer at the Islamic University of Gaza, teaching English and linguistics. I loved to motivate and empower my students so they can reach their full potential.

When the war broke out, I was displacement with my family multiple times in places I did not know existed in the Gaza Strip. Sometimes we literally ran for our lives under heavy bombardment and learned what a near-death experience actually meant.

Five months into the war, my Irish university managed to get me out of Gaza. Ever since I evacuated and left my entire family in Gaza (parents, siblings, nephews, nieces), I woke up every day so tired from horrible horrible horrible nightmares, wishing to end my life.

But then I remember: If I give up, who will help my family survive? Who will help me get them out when the crossing opens again?

I saw the constant bombardment every day live in the news, and my family was dispersed in different places in the Gaza Strip, running for their lives, struggling to survive.

The misery and suffering continue until today after we lost our house and the cold of winter if freezing them all, especially my elderly parents and young nephews and nieces.

HOWEVER...

Hard times do not only create strong people; they also reveal the goodness and humanity in others. And Gaza needs the world’s goodness now more than ever.

My family lost their home. They now live in tents, shivering in the cold. Rainwater enters every time it rains. They have no electricity, no clean water, no cooking gas, and no safety. Survival itself has become a battle.

I have been dedicating all my efforts to helping my family survive in the current situation in Gaza and apply for reunification visas with the support of my college and friends here in Ireland.

Every single member of my family counts the seconds until the day we all reunify in Ireland and live a safe, normal life like we have been dreaming for more than two years

This can only be possible with your kindness, support and humanity.

Please consider donating if you can, share our story, reblog our post, and amplify our voice. You have no idea how much you can help in getting my family out of the living hell of Gaza to safety.

When the world becomes numb to Palestinian suffering, please choose not to turn away.

Please 'follow' me to stay updated!

Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring.

Mahmoud

Congratulations to Hilda and Mohammed, and little baby Ali - who was born on the 3rd of October, 2025.

Hilda did a wonderful job of protecting and nourishing Ali under tremendously difficult circumstances. She had anaemia, very little to eat, and was very stressed and tired out.

Unfortunately, having a baby is difficult at the best of times - and although there's a very fragile ceasefire in place, things aren't much easier. Ali needs all the things that a new baby needs, and nobody has an income because there are no jobs yet.

To make matters worse, Hilda's Tumblr account has just been frozen again. She and her family are truly dependent on the support from this good community: without donations, they don't eat.

Let's keep showing up for Hilda - so she can take care of her baby, her family, and her grandmother.

Don't forget us🙏🏻

In Gaza, 🇵🇸🍉

🚨flour is scarce, and hunger is gnawing at my children's stomachs. 🚨‼️

We either die of hunger or bombing

For months, my family and I haven't tasted any fresh vegetables or meat. Obtaining bread has become an impossible task. Hunger has reached the point where we've been forced to sell some of our personal and household belongings, which we acquired after our house was completely demolished, to raise money for our basic needs amid the skyrocketing prices of flour and other scarce goods available in the markets.

The severe restrictions imposed by the Israeli occupation authorities on the entry of humanitarian aid and commercial goods have led to the depletion of everything in the markets and the rise in prices. As a result, famine has "eaten" our bodies. Due to the intense hunger, we eat flour that is infested with weevils and insects.

Our children need milk,Pampers،food،basic needs🙏🏻

In these pictures My sons , My nephews, nieces My sister's children

My sisters .can you see our pain and feel our hunger?!

Fear, death, famine, siege, suffering, oppression, silence of the world?!!

I am calling your humanity to do whatever you can to ease our pain

  • Talk about us and don't leave us alone

We are not okay, please dont forget us and stand with us by donating or reblogging to amplify our voices 🙏🏻

( Don’t forget, this is reality—we are not in a dream )

Don't forget us—do something, anything! Share, donate, like—just help us survive.

These things are untouchable because expensive

Sally just became a big sister to her baby brother Mohammed. Their mother Laila @laylaayman-blog2 has been fundraising trying to support their family through the awful conditions in Gaza, but it is hard for her to keep promoting her cause while taking care of a newborn, and donations have slowed as a result. She needs our help to share her campaign!

Please consider donating what you can, no amount is too small, and share if you cannot donate! Everything helps to get this campaign moving again, so that Laila can provide Sally and Mohammed with their basic needs!

This is the story of my four-year-old sister whose only crime is to be born in northern Gaza. I hope it will touch you, because I don’t know what to say anymore. I don’t know what to share about our situation anymore.

I have lowered my campaign goal because I have lost hope. I wanted to complete it before March when a new semester will begin so I could register for university again and focus on nothing but my studies. I wanted to rebuild our home so we would avoid the years and years of displacement we went through last time it was destroyed. Maybe I dreamed too big. Maybe my life isn’t meant to be rebuilt.

There is now less than $7,000 left to reach the goal.

Can we please achieve that at least? I won’t have a home, it’s okay. I’ll study in a tent, but at least I’ll be able to somewhat focus if our needs are met. Please, I’m not angry if you can’t donate. I understand. But please at least share, it helps a lot too

I am eternally grateful to anyone who helps in any way 🙏

If you voted please Share the following post.

Because all those in Gaza can wish for right now is a peaceful night without freezing rain or artillery shelling.

We can help give them a little relief. So please take a look at the campaign below.

This campaign was shared by 90-ghost who is a Palestinian blogger who tries to find and support legitimate campaigns.

The donations are on Chuffed and can be pretty low; 3$ or 1€ even! And those add up so don't hesitate if that's what you can give!

Shares help reach more donors. It's the easiest way to help but its still So Valuable, because of the afore mentioned reason.

No action is too small, and there is Always a way to help.
