I will always remember her. Whenever she sought me out and asked to be alone, an atmosphere of absolute intimacy completely enveloped us. I felt I could tell her anything: my feelings about the past, the nostalgia that washed over me, or even talk about forbidden topics and strange, dark fantasies. She was never upset; our mutual trust was absolute. Being alone with her was like opening a book, discovering a portal hidden from everyone else, and disappearing together behind it. I was never afraid of her. In reality, she was a pretty laid-back woman, but being close to her deeply aroused me because of the firm, sensual way she looked at me, and the things she dared to say that any other woman normally never would.

I have come to understand that life always tries to teach us that loneliness has significant value for ourselves, more than for those who have loved us, forgotten us. So the most rational and valuable thing we can achieve without wanting or expecting anything in return is the strength to love ourselves, no matter how alone we are.

—  Juan Francisco Palencia. "Loneliness is temporary, it always leaves as it comes".

I always wait.
I come to visit you, old sea, my friend
And sadly tell you that I'm tired of waiting
For what will never come to my life.
Today I just need the peace from you, old sea, my friend.
You who have seen me sing and laugh
Old sea, friend sea, you who know my loneliness.
Lie down with me on the sand and let me know your truth.
Old sea, friend sea, have you noticed that I carry
My heart full of memories?
So many clouds I've seen pass, so many desires I can't forget
You know, old sea, how many times I offered that woman
To give her my love.
Old sea, friend sea, you who then speak to me of loneliness
Let's walk on the sand and tell me your truth.
Old sea, friend sea, I carry my soul full of pain
Although many years will pass, I will always remember
That it was an impossible dream.
That woman will remain a beautiful dream I'll always have.
I always ask that she remembers and lives it
With another love, in other arms.
I always hope that sometimes she remembers me... dreams of me.

In the end we will be the narrators of our own experiences. Rescuing small apices of memories from oblivion so as not to lose our own destiny in the stormy return to what, although we loved, we never had.

I. La voz del Aprendiz.

* "Über-man": Adaptación a Übermensch (concepto filosófico de Nietzsche.)
