Heat in the U.K. is too bad to leave my fucking house so this week’s project has been a complete and total overhaul of the new Masters of the Universe film. Went to see it just to get some AC tbh but yeah as bad as expected with the costume department disappointing bad. Made even worse by the fact I see this actor in fine silks on my Pinterest every day because of the amount of historical menswear I draw.

Here’s some redesigns of Teela’s main outfit and Adam’s final outfit of the film. Gave Teela some shoulder armour both to mimic the general shape of the cartoon outfit and to make her silhouette more broad and intimidating because they chose quite a slight actor. Her bun actually looked really good but they only show it for about a minute + then she has her hair down for the rest of the film and the wig just looks limp. Her blue contacts were also very scary just let her have brown eyes man.

On the other end we’ve got Adam, and if the film was trying to comment on masculinity then we should not have Adam finish the film in an outfit that is a noticeably more practical and “tough” looking version of his cartoon outfit. I basically just wanted to put him in something that looked soft. Also COWARDS for making his trousers blue and not purple. The back of the skirt part is split in two so the tunic skirt is in three sections. I just think it’d look cool. I even researched the price of brocades you could use to make this that’s how deep in this hole I am. I also kind of wanted his shoes to look a little bit modern inspired (since he’s from Earth in this film) so I gave them the converse type soles haha.

If you read that whole yap stay tuned I might post my entire slides presentation on this movie eventually. My aunt asked me to make it.

Guess who just saw Master of the Universe and is now obssessed with He-Man?!?!?!?!??!

The girl running this blog that's who

It just, it was so fucking good. Both movie wise and everything wise. It had jokes, it had beautiful visuals, it had an amazing lesson, a himbo Adam that can pack a punch but would rather talk it out first, a soundtrack that had me soaring, and an overall deepness to it that it is magnetic.

Now I will confess that I did not grow up on the cartoons and that is something that I deeply regret. However both my parents did and boy know I understand where I got the nerd gene from because I haven't seen them this excited for a movie in a whileeeeee.

So I'm def gonna begin watching the cartoons (if anyone knows where I can find them please let me know) and I guess I'm getting a new hyperfixiation

Enjoy the ride cuz I'm most likely taking all of you (the people who for some reason follow me) on this journey.

Also before watching this movie my dad made me watch the 80s movie and the joy in my heart when Dolph Lundgren made his cameo and said 'good journey' while doing the hand gesture was undiscribable
