In context: With SMG4 announcing that he's ending the channel itself, that would mean he'll disappear. Three, knowing this about Four he could never and wouldn't let go of him. After a whole decade they've both spent with each other. It's too much for him to bare the pain itself.
In the end he'd rather stay by his side and hear his final words before he goes...
