Had a coworker tell me they hadn’t texted once because of the time. “I didn’t want to wake you.”

I stared at them through the dawning realization that they lived in a world where that was remotely possible. “My phone is on do not disturb if I’m sleeping. Why would I let random texts wake me up? My sleep is important.”

Equally baffled they replied, “What if someone at work needs you?”

“I am not a manager. No one at work will ever need me badly enough to interrupt my sleep. If I’m not working then there’s no reason to be calling me.”

“Not even if you need to cover?”

I laughed, “I don’t need to cover. They could ask me to cover but good luck getting ahold of me if I’m sleeping.”

They looked distressed at this idea.

To console them I added, “I have important people like my mom and my wife set to override. If they call they get through no matter what.”

There was a small pause before they asked, “You can do that…?”

So friendly reminder. Become unreachable. Work does not need you that badly. Sleep.

One thing i noticed about She Ra is that most of the time when Catra is depicted as feeling angry, threatened, scared etc, she's shown usually hissing, scratching and looking at the target with slit irises. I'm noting this because I'm pretty sure we never really or very rarely see her do the OTHER stuff cats may do when fighting or feeling threatened (as someone with two cats who have fought other strange cats before).

This includes the signature yowling noise, the more backwards or airplane ears, fluffed up tail, more dilated eyes, hair standing up, the curved pose they do, and so on. I just think it's interesting to think of Catra doing these things as well in her life, routine, and combat encounters. Might doodle the idea at some point but yeah there's a She Ra ramble for Catra enjoyers. (^._.^)ノ

Sighs longingly. Vanessa trying desperately to mentally downplay the number of murders she's been involved with. Strictly defining her own kills as the ones where she held the knife herself. If you asked her, she'd only count a handful of the bodies as her own work, even though so, so many of them saw her face before they died, and she knows where every last one of them are.

Versus Michael counting every last one of his father's crimes that he so much as glimpsed as something he was a part of. Every time he wiped a knife or kept a secret he overheard, he tells himself that he was part of it.

Both of them are lying to themselves, and both of them are pretending it makes them feel better to pretend (it doesn't)
