There is just something about Hashirama being a possessive older brother when it comes to Tobirama that just gets me.
Both in a comedic sense and not.
From childhood and war it had always just been them against the world- Hashirama doing everything he could to make sure Tobirama stayed alive and well no matter the cost.
Now that they are in times of peace in the newly built village Hashirama is not exactly thrilled when Tobirama and Madara begin to not only tolerate each other but Gods forbid they start becoming something resembling friends.
His first heartbreak is when Tobirama gets genuine affections for Madara and Hashirama spends a night wailing and sobbing into Mito’s lap and then being vindictive towards Madara from that moment on.
The day Tobirama moves out of the home he shared with them, Mito just pats Hashirama's back and smokes her pipe as Hashirama drinks himself half to death as he laments on Tobirama’s horrendous taste in men and begging to anything, god or sage, that could hear him that Tobirama come to his senses soon.

what’s so interesting about konoha is that they take so much from these clans but once they’ve taken all they can get they turn their backs on them and allow a genocide to occur and at times even plans it themselves. The biggest case being the Uzumaki clan and the Uchiha clan. The Uzumaki having a year long alliance with the senju clan in return with konoha yet after everything even helping them when needed their left to be wiped out by other villages while konoha sits on the sidelines and let it happen. Doesn’t help in anyway possible and doesn’t even bring in refugees. If kushina wasn’t going to be the host the likely chance she would have been brought to Konoha is nonexistent.
But it also puts into perspective with Mito who has been Konoha jinchuriki for so long. It’s not like she abandoned her clan rather had to put her duty first which is something konoha seems to do a lot of. And with her age even though she’s a valuable ally and weapon the fact Konoha did nothing to protect or aid her clan is just sad. Now having to teach and train Kushina for a role that she is not ready for, she can’t make the same sacrifice Mito made. And then with the Uchiha clan while they started off as enemies with the Senju they grew a relationship due to Hashirama and Madara, but after that it only went downhill and prejudice and discrimination occurred.
While a powerful clan and upheld for protecting konoha there was the underline hatred for them because of the police fraction and how konoha utilized that to create a rift between the clan and the rest of konoha. And of course they can’t have their most powerful weapon biting the hand of their owner so kill them off once they try to fight back from discrimination. All this happening under Hirzuen leadership a coward who further corrupted Konoha into a militarized state.
Meanwhile with the Hyuga clan they seem to be the most easy to control pet for konoha. The slave traditions within the clan more so helps Konoha, so of course they won’t go against it or try to stop it. It helps them with the effort of militarizing their people and sending them to their death.
