ADAPT has always been the type to put your safety first, always making sure you have a jacket when you go out, even if you swore you didn't need one, making sure you eat and sleep properly and checking that you’re safe whenever you head out with your friends at night.
so of course it was no surprise when he absolutely refused to let you even touch the keys to his nissan gt-r.
“just around the coastline, i’ll be safe” you beg.
“i don’t know, baby” he shakes his head, a faint trace of a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.
the two of you are tangled up together on his bed. you're straddling his lap with your legs locked around his hips, sitting upright while he leans back against the headboard and his hands resting lazily on your waist.
“aw, c’mon” you continue your act.
it wasn’t even that you desperately needed to drive his car, it was more about knowing you could wrap him around your finger whenever you really wanted to.
“just this once” you murmur, widening your eyes with a pout on your lips while your index finger traces a slow, deliberate path across his chest.
he groans, catching your wrist. “don’t look at me like that”
“like what?” you feign innocence, batting your lashes.
“like bambi” he mutters and the choice of words makes you laugh out loud.
“i am not looking at you like anything” you say, leaning in close. “what if we get a sweet treat after?” you say, sliding right back into negotiations.
he closes his eyes and drags a hand down his face, fighting a battle he practically already lost. you bite down on your smile, you already know you've won.
“fine” he grumbles and you immediately shower his face with affectionate kisses.
“ah, thank you, oh my gosh, you’re officially my favorite boyfriend” you announce, scrambling off his lap and heading straight for your shoes.
“i better be the only one, especially after letting you do this” he says, pushing himself up off the bed to follow you.
the engine purrs to life so smoothly that you consider taking back every single time you scolded alex for being extra and driving a ridiculously loud car.
you pull out onto the open road, taking in the view ahead as the sun sets lower, painting the horizon in streaks of pink and orange that are a total sight for sore eyes.
alex’s hand rests warm on your thigh. when you glance over, you catch a soft smile playing on his lips, the kind that makes your chest tighten with a sudden rush of warmth.
you press down a little harder on the acceleration, the g-force pressing you gently back into your seat. you chuckle softly when you feel alex’s hand tighten its grip on your leg. his protective instincts kicking in on autopilot.
“don’t worry, i’ve got us” you tease, your headlights cutting through the dark as you glide into a tunnel.
“if we crash and die, you’re still buying the sweet treat” he deadpans as you emerge back out onto the beachside highway.
“uh-huh, sure” you giggle and you feel the brush of his lips as he presses a soft and lingering kiss to your cheek.
it’s not like he ever really says no to you anyway, but you save the bambi eyes method in your back pocket for later. you might just have to use it a lot more often.
JASON ’s nerves weren’t because you were driving — well, part of them.
it was that he knew there was a part of you that would enjoy the thrill of a fast sports car, and there wasn’t much self control inside him to stop himself from purchasing you one if you really wanted it.
and he had a feeling you did.
your smile was precious, the wind was kissing your hair making it go in different directions and somehow you still managed to look effortlessly beautiful. there was a mischievous glint in your eyes as you pressed down on the acceleration of his mercedes maybach.
not only was the interior stunning, so was the engine. as you cruised around calabasas under a blanket of sparkling stars, jason’s heart felt entirely full.
“we should do this more often” you say, glancing over at the passenger seat.
jason breaks his gaze from the road to look at you, a soft smile pulling at the corner of his lips. he reaches across the center console, letting his hand gently find yours on the leather gear shift, his thumb tracing your knuckles.
“only if you promise to let me spoil you afterwards,” he murmurs, his voice low over the hum of the engine. “if you keep driving like this, i might just have to clear out a spot in the garage for your new car by tomorrow morning”
you shoot him a playful and disbelieving look, your grip tightening around the wheel. “and would that be a problem, mr?”
“it would be a promise,” he chuckles, leaning his head back against the headrest. he knew he was completely at your mercy and loving every single day. “but at the moment, keep your eyes on the road, miss”
RON had good taste in many things.
clothes, music, and girls. well, a girl. you. but especially in cars.
he had two cars that he adored more than anything in the world. though, not as much as he adored you.
“please,” you begged, leaning over the door as you fluttered your eyelashes, “just let me drive it before laiys does” you suggest.
the three of you had just wrapped up a late night photoshoot for his clothing line, which meant you had spent the last two hours posing in his oversized hoodies, right up against the hood of his favorite car.
laiys and the rest of the crew had finally packed up their cameras and left and you’d told them you’d see them back the house with ron.
that had been ten minutes ago and you were currently refusing to get out of the driver's seat, trying to sweet talk your boyfriend into handing over the keys.
“i won’t speed, i won’t scratch the paint, i’ll actually come to a complete stop at the stop signs and i swear on my life i won't hit a single pothole” you plead from behind the wheel.
you looked up at him through the open window, offering your best irresistible pout. he just looked back down at you with that stupid, lopsided smile that drove you out of your mind. his arms were crossed over his chest and dangling lazily from his fingers were the keys to his porsche 911 gt3 rs.
“is that seriously all you’ve got to convince me?” he hums, dripping with amusement.
you roll your eyes playfully, biting down on your lower lip. “well, i do have a much better offer but we kind of have to get back to the house for that one” you murmur, your gaze locking onto his.
he barks out a soft laugh, shaking his head as he uncrosses his arms. “ah, fuck it” he caves, sliding the keys off his finger.
he drops them right into your open palm but before he can pull his hand away, he steps closer, leaning in through the window just enough to steal the air right out of your lungs.
“you better make this drive worth it, baby” he murmurs before stepping into the passenger seat and letting you take the wheel.
as you cruise down the familiar road toward the house, ron’s smile doesn’t slip from his face for a single second.
he tries to shout out helpful tips over the roar of the car, but half the time his voice gets completely lost beneath the rumbling sound of the engine.
the sudden g force pushes you both back into your leather seats as the salty, midnight breeze rushes in through the cracked windows, tangling in your hair.
you pull up to a red light, idling for a moment in the empty street. in the lane next to you, the driver of a lowered car rolls down their window, giving the porsche a respectful nod. ron casually tilts his head back, returning the gesture with a smirk.
the road is clear and the light turns green but before the car can really go forward, ron’s hand shoots out. his fingers gently wrapping around your jaw to turn your face toward his.
he pulls you in for a sudden kiss. you melt into it instantly, returning it slow and sweet. right against your lips, you can feel the exact moment ron’s mouth curves into a grin.
you break away, breathless and laughing. “what?” you whisper, the contagion of his smile catching on your own face.
“nothing. just stalling you from finishing the ride” he teases, leaning back in his seat.
“the only ride you’re stalling is the one you’re getting the second we walk through the front door” you snap back smoothly.
he lets out a low laugh, shaking his head. “such a tease” he murmurs, his eyes dark with amusement as you slam your foot back down on the accelerator.
he takes one last glance at you, wearing his clothes, driving his car and wearing the faint gloss of a kiss that belonged entirely to him.
he didn't even have to think twice. he knew right then and there that he would hand you the keys to anything you wanted for the rest of his life.
MARLON always wants the best for you, whether that is in your personal life or material possessions.
it’s no surprise you enjoy luxury for yourself as well, it really was an acquired taste.
so it came as no surprise when marlon finally agreed to let you take the wheel of his lamborghini aventador svj.
you had promised him only driving around the neighborhood, somewhere safe and where you wouldn’t get lost.
that promise lasted ten minutes.
“—i swear you said turn left!” you exclaimed, gripping the steering wheel a little too tight as you stared down an entirely unfamiliar street.
“no, i clearly said right” marlon said, leaning back against the seat. he wasn’t angry in the slightest, mostly too amused by your panic.
“you’re so much worse than my gps” you muttered as you both rolled to a stop at a red light, your heart hammering against your ribs.
marlon chuckled as he reached over, his fingers gently tapping the back of your hand where it rested on the gear shift. “after this light, you’ll go right, ok? right, not left” he said, trying to guide you guys back toward familiar territory.
you nodded, taking a deep breath and moving the car forward. as the light turned green and you rolled up to the upcoming intersection, your stomach dropped.
“marlon, that’s the freeway entrance” you say, voice pitching up.
“i know, it’s faster than the street” he replies casually.
“it’s a faster way to die, yes” you shoot back, “i don’t wanna take the freeway, look at it”
unfortunately, the heavy flow of traffic and the lanes went against you, sending you straight onto the ramp before you could even blink.
there were too many cars, too much roaring noise and the engine suddenly felt terrifyingly loud.
you let out a dramatic whine as a massive semi truck merged into the lane right next to you, towering over the sports car. “marlon, the truck next to us is going to crush us, i can feel it”
“shut up, no it’s not,” he says, hiding a grin as he tries to reassure you, “just speed up, let the car do its job”
“im scared to, what if we get pulled over?” you ask, eyes darting to the rearview mirror.
“lapd don’t give a fuck” he teases, “just press on the gas and for the love of god, read the signs ahead so we don’t get lost again”
you press down on the pedal and the car surges forward, throwing you back into your seat as you go flying down the lane. the roaring engine and road suddenly feel a lot less scary when marlon’s warm hand lands on your neck. his fingers resting softly at the nape, thumb brushing a soothing circle against your skin.
“turn right up here, make sure no cars are coming on this lane” he says, keeping his touch steady and grounding as he signals for the exit.
“don’t worry, i’ve got it” you say, a small smile finally breaking through your stress.
once you safely drive off the ramp and pull into a quiet, empty parking lot to swap seats, marlon kills the engine for you. before you can unbuckle, he reaches over, cups your cheek, and pulls you in for a soft kiss.
“see?” he murmurs against your lips, a smile touching the corners of his mouth. “you survived. though next time, maybe we stick to the passenger seat”
SILKY always notices the little things about you, like the way your eyes light up the second you see something you want.
right now, they're locked entirely on his mercedes amg gt 63.
he promised a proper date night after being away for days and now that he’s finally back, you’re making sure he follows through.
“—and they have valet parking, so you don't even have to stress about me parallel parking” you finish your reasoning on why you should drive the car to dinner.
he folds his arms, a slow smile pulling at his mouth. “why are you so adamant about driving my car, huh?”
“wouldn’t it be nice if i chauffeured you for once?” you shrug innocently.
“it’s a date i’m taking you on. i’m supposed to be the gentleman” he fires back.
“so? you don’t think a girl can drive her guy around?”
“i know a girl can. i just don’t know about you” he teases, raising a brow.
“we’ll see about that” you swipe the keys right out of his coat pocket and walk around the front. “come on, passenger princess, get in”
as you slide behind the wheel, he watches you, hiding a grin. he knows you’re fully capable, he just loves pushing your buttons.
“i can feel you staring” you call out,
he hums. “i just wanna look at you, gorgeous”
butterflies erupts in your stomach. “keep talking like that and i will crash us”
he chuckles. “you look good behind the wheel. maybe i should let you drive mor—”
his words cut off as you slam hard on the brakes, bringing the car to a screeching halt. his hand instantly shoots out to check on you before he glares at the windshield.
a raccoon and a line of tiny babies are casually walking across the street.
“j, look!” you exclaimed.
“christ, you scared me half to death over some raccoons” he groans.
“whoops” you shrug, watching them scramble up the curb.
twenty minutes later, you pull into the restaurant’s lot. the valet opens your door, offering a hand and whistling at the sleek machine. “nice ride, ma’am”
“thank you” you smile, accepting the compliment on the car's behalf.
silky walks up beside you, smirking. “i hope we do have a nice dinner, because if not, we might have to go back out and look for the raccoons and eat them”
you nudge him hard in the ribs. “shut up, they were cute”
“not as cute as you” he fires back, wrapping an arm around your waist.
you look up, grinning triumphantly. “see? letting me drive wasn't that bad”
he rolls his eyes, smiling too. “yeah, yeah. just for the record, you’re definitely not driving back home”
“whatever” you laugh, letting him lead you inside.
LACY watched as you leaned against the passenger door of his mercedes amg sl 63, crossing your arms, wearing an expression he quite couldn’t put his finger on.
“i deserve this, nick” you drawled, batting your eyelashes with fake innocence. “we’re practically married and i have yet to touch the steering wheel”
lacy chuckled, resting an elbow on the center console and turning to look at you with an amused smirk.
“this car has more horsepower than common sense, it requires a delicate touch”
“i have a delicate touch!” you scoffed, shifting your weight. “you know all about my delicate touch” you countered smoothly, sliding across the supple leather seat until you were practically in his lap, invading his personal space with absolute confidence.
you looped your arms around his neck, flashing a smile that you knew he was entirely defenseless against.
lacy let out a low laugh, his hands instinctively settling on your waist to keep you steady. “oh, really? because the last time you tested your delicate touch on something of mine, my spiderman lego set completely crumbled at your hands”
“that wasn’t entirely my fault and you know it” you murmured, pressing a light, teasing kiss just beneath his jawline. “now, let me drive your precious car, nick. please?”
he looked into your big and persuasive eyes, feeling the obvious trap closing in around him. he glanced down at the steering wheel, back up at your face and finally sighed with a dramatic display of defeat.
"if you scratch anything," lacy warned, tapping a stern finger against the tip of your nose, "i am selling every single piece of clothing you own to pay for the repair bill”
"fair" you shrugged, utterly unfazed by the threat.
within seconds, you two had scrambled over the center console in a clumsy tangle of long limbs, stifled curses and quiet laughter, trading places.
once you finally dropped into the driver's seat, you buckled your seatbelt with a satisfying click, adjusted the rearview mirror and gave yourself a quick nod of approval in the glass.
"just remember," lacy muttered from the passenger side, already reaching over to grab the overhead handle just in case, "this isn't your regular car. so, ease onto the gas"
"relax, i've got this" you teased, shifting the car into drive.
as you pulled out onto the open road, the wind whipped through the open windows and the aggressive growl of the engine vibrated right through the car. your initial nervous tension melted away instantly.
you glanced over at lacy, who was watching your profile with a quiet and soft expression, the teasing edge completely gone from his eyes.
"not bad," he admitted quietly, a fond smile breaking through. "for a maniac like you"
