Rhysand's POV -

Being High Lord of the Night Court was not merely a title—it was a weight. A crown carved from duty and sacrifice, heavier with every passing day.

And today, it pressed too tightly against my skull, thrummed behind my eyes, and gnawed at the edges of my temper like some ancient beast.

So I fled. Not in the way cowards run, but in the way survivors breathe.

I flew to the farthest, quietest corner of Velaris I could reach—miles away from Hewn City and Keir's insufferable theatrics. Away from politics. Away from masks and darkness.

I landed in a garden. One of the many hidden throughout Velaris, but this one felt... untouched. Sacred, almost.

The air shimmered with the delicate scent of lilac and moonflower, and the world here seemed to exhale in peace.

I had come to be alone. To think. To forget. But then I saw her. Not something. Someone.

July Wandering... 🎹🌸

What if we took a moment to slow down today? 🌿✨

While walking around my neighborhood, I was completely charmed by these bursts of wild colors, soft pinks, vibrant purples, and bright yellows. 🌼🌾 But my favorite surprise was coming across this public piano tucked away under the cool shade of the tall trees. 🌳🎵 It almost feels like a gentle melody is about to drift out with the slightest breeze... 🎶

Wishing you all a beautiful, peaceful, and bright Thursday! ✨💛

Rose Magic: Using Roses in Spells & Divination

by Keziah

Spring is rolling right along, and my garden is blooming like mad. I noticed the other day that some of my rosebushes are already budding, and I look forward to their blossoms every year, not only because I enjoy the vibrant hues of my rose shrubs and roses are favorites of the pollinators in my neighborhood (who doesn't love to see happy bees and butterflies hanging around?), but also because roses are a versatile magical ally that can be put to use in a number of ways.

Perhaps best known for their use in love magic, roses can also be utilized in spells for luck, beauty, health, protection, or binding, or in divination work. In this piece, we'll explore some magical uses for roses, including spells and divination methods for all experience levels.

My meditation room smells so sweetly of the flowers I picked up at the flower stand yesterday! It immediately set me in such a good mood today to see the little bouquet I arranged —

  • chrysanthemum for protection;
  • daisy for luck and joy;
  • carnation for fortitude, and healing;
  • statice for clarity;
  • baby's breath for cleansing and purification;
  • rose for luck, protection, and love;
  • and stock or gilly-flower for blessings, longevity, and happiness.

I've another small bouquet in my room and in the kitchen.

I also picked up another miniature rose bush yesterday, which I'll be planting today. It's high time my other mini had a friend (though it's been going strong with the hostas and azaleas keeping it company for 8 years now).

'A Heart Is A Heavy Burden' emotional healing spell jar

Goldie's Guide to Witchcraft: A Tumblr grimoire for the masses

Hello everyone! Today I thought I'd share the recipe for a very soft, simple healing spell that I performed for an ex of mine. In my experience, this is great for healing deep emotional wounds that someone hasn't been able to face, getting someone to be comfortable confronting their emotions, or anything of that sort. Kinda Howl-esque if you think about it.

Ingredients

  • Fire safe dish
  • White candle
  • Jar
  • Beach sand: grounding, oceanic healing energy
  • Sugar: sweeten the experience
  • Clove: clear negativity
  • Pink carnation: soft healing
  • Rose: self love, love for life
  • Orange peel: happiness
  • Sunflower: bright outlook on life
  • Passionflower: soothe anxiety
  • Chamomile: soothe anxiety
  • Basil: renewal of hope
  • Tears: emotional release, healing (this was part of the original recipe, but I couldn't cry so I used moon water collected during The Pink Moon as a substitute)

Incantation

You can make up your own, but this is the incantation that I found to be successful.

" Hold the heart that has been hurt

Heal the hand that has been burnt

Cradle the wound that has always bled

Heal from which has made tears be shed "

My Process

  1. Mix Beach sand and sugar, place this into the fire safe dish.
  2. Carve an emotional healing sigil into the bottom of the candle. Put the candle into the sand sugar mixture, it should act as a base for the candle
  3. Combine other ingredients into the jar and close lid/cork it. Place inside the fire safe dish in such a way where there is no way for the cork or glass to be touched by the flame
  4. Chant the incantation with the person this being cast on (or yourself!) in mind. I like to add the person's name and birthday into it, and slip into an almost trance like state while chanting. This part is very intuitive, and at one point I just started talking about this person's emotional issues, how I intended the correspondences to work, personal things I knew them to struggling with.
  5. [OPTIONAL] I am a hellenic polytheist, and prayed to Aphrodite, Apollo, and Hygiea for healing over this person and a calm road into that healing journey. I also called to the elements + the moon!
  6. While closing out the spell, I specified that the energy put into it would begin to work on this person once I snuffed out the candle and promptly did so.

I keep this on my altar now with The Star tarot card underneath it! Funnily enough, I did this spell on a Wednesday since the Mercurial energies of communication were at play - and the next day this person broke no contact! The whole point of extinguishing the candle, by the way, is so that I can recast it weekly and continue boosting their energy. Now that I think about it, I think this could also be turned into a potion IF you exclude sunflower, carnation, and sand - maybe these could be replaced with edible herbs with similar correspondences?

If anyone does this spell, please let me know your results! This is an original, so I'd be stoked to see how it works for others :)
