Modern AU where Ace and Sabo take care of baby brother Luffy.
Ace doesn't have his tattoo here yet. Sabo still lost his memories when they were kids, but didn't disappear and Ace helped him with his recovery.
Ace got his tattoo while drunk, decided to use the "name" baby Luffy kept calling him but was stopped (by Deuce) because why would you do that to yourself. The S was already done by the time he was stopped. So that's how he got his tattoo in this AU.

How One Piece men realize they have a crush on you
ZORO
He realizes that he has a crush on you the moment during a fight when you and he were on the ground, injured by an overwhelmingly powerful enemy, when the enemy began openly mocking Zoro's dream and determination.
Suddenly you got up despite your open wounds and took up Zoro's defense. You defend Zoro's dream with strength and determination; it was a very emotional moment, and Zoro felt for the first time a feeling in his heart that he had never felt before. You were there, defending him, his honor fearlessly.
Why ? Zoro kept asking him why, why him ? For the first time he was scared to loose someone but not as a friend but as someone who can change the way his heart beats.
After the battle he will stay by your bedside while you are recovering from your injuries and vow to himself silently to always protect you. After this event, you will see him. You will see him more frequently, he will not become someone else, he will be the same, the same behavior, but a small thing changed in the air.
His gaze will often rest upon you, like a protective guardian always there even if you don't see him, shielding you from danger. Perhaps one day he will have the strength to say the thing he doesn't understand, the thing that makes his heart flutter.
SANJI
He realizes that he has a crush on you during the Whole Cake Island arc. He had never felt this kind of sadness, he was about to marry another woman but the only one on his mind was you.
Memories from your smile, your kindness, all the moments shared together. It warmed his heart, but his heart ached at the memory of your tearful face, your eyes filled with endless sadness as he fought Luffy.
He will never forget your empty gaze when Luffy laidback on the ground. How could he wants a woman like you when he just broke your heart ? He had never felt such great love for a woman, but he just ruined everything. He wanted to protect everyone but at what cost ? Do you hate him now ?
Surely that’s what he thinks right now, you hate him and you could never love a monster like him. A sweet, lovely, courageous, kind and caring woman like you would never a man like him that’s impossible.
That would be completely illogical. After all the chaos of whole Cake Island, he secretly hopes that you would give him another chance, that he could finally tell you all the things that his heart hides between meaningless flirt and compliments with other women.
You’re the angel that is always in his mind, haunting him in his sleep but he never knew what true love was so now that he is experiencing it for the first time so vividly, so colorfully, so strongly like a love story he just hopes it won’t end up being a tragedy.
ACE
He realizes that he has a crush on you on the day of his execution. The battle was raging, screams and tears were rosing in the air.
Ace was standing there, about to be executed when suddenly he saw you with Luffy. Why did you come here ? To save him ? Why ? It's so dangerous here. Why are you willing to sacrifice your life to save him ? A monster like him ? A man who doesn't deserve to live, a man with such tainted blood, it's incomprehensible to him.
He doesn't deserve someone like you to help him. You were such a kind and caring person. He never understood why you never hated him, never saw him as the son of a demon. No, you always saw him as Ace, simply Ace.
You always treated him with such kindness; it warmed his heart of fire. After you met, you became very good friends. You spent so much time together, exploring, going on adventures, and even confiding in each other, sharing your own stories, sometimes even personal details.
For the first time in his life, Ace felt a strange but also pleasant feeling in his wounded heart. And when you saw you there, standing with determination even if the enemy was intimidating, even if the atmosphere was all pure chaos , ready to fight to save his life, something broke inside of him and let a new thing enters in him.
He was scared to loose you so scared for the first time in his life he wanted to share something so delicate, he wanted to share his heart, this strong feeling called love with you and only you.After this chaotic event, everything returns to normal on the Whitebeard’s ship well… almost everything.
Now Ace changed, he didn’t change his personality he is still the same as before but now he has this strong desire to finally tell you all the things he never thought he could ever say, feel, in his life. Thanks to you, you bring out the best in him, and he would like to thank you for everything and maybe be able to give to you his heart and it would be the start of a new chapter in your life.
LAW
He realizes that he has a crush on you the moment he saw your bloody body laying on the battlefield. He completely froze, of course he has already seen his crew mates injured,weakly or strongly wounded , he has seen it hundreds of times and he had no problem healing them but this particular vision just broke something inside of him.
You were laying on the ground, blood all around you, unconscious, half dead. Bepo, Penguin and the others were completely panicked, screaming, crying, shaking your body and keeping repeating “please, stay alive we beg you” Law’s mind was in a blur, stuck in a fog. He has no memory of what happened next, the only reason why he knows what happened is because Kakku and Bepo told him everything.
He rushed to you, kneeling before your bruised body, his face contorted with a panic that even Bepo had never seen his Captain in such a state. He took you in his arms and ran to the operating room; the other crew members were praying and sobbing together.
On Law’s side, his mind had only one goal: to save you. He was only capable of one task: to operate on you, to heal you. That night, he didn't sleep, he didn't close his eyes once. He watched over you in the darkness, but it was in the silence of the night that Law realized a truth his heart had tried to hide for months. He had been so afraid, afraid of losing you.
He was so afraid, so afraid of what he could feel, he has always been seen as a person that doesn’t express his feelings, his emotions. He never thought that he would ever experience this kind of feeling, he has always seen love as a waste of time and useless, he is a doctor, he is always choosing the most logical option over all of different options presented but now he is facing the most irrational feeling of his life. He is a doctor and he caught the love sickness and now.
A few days later, you woke up after your coma of several days. The crew members all rushed to your side to ask you a ton of questions and, above all, to tell you how scared they were for you and how much you meant to them. When the others had left, you saw Law and thanked him warmly for saving your life. He replied in his usual manner—well, almost. You noticed a slight change in his voice, but you were still too exhausted from your injuries to understand. You couldn't imagine that your Captain had his heart stolen by you and only you.
SABO
He realizes that he has a crush on you during a high tension mission. This mission was a key element to another mission of a greater magnitude so every members of this operation were particularly concerned and focused on their task. The mission consisted to break into Mariejois and successfully steal extremely important documents. This mission was extremely dangerous, one wrong move and it could blow everything away.
The beginning of it went horribly well, too perfect, it felt strange, such a complicated mission could not go this easy without any complications or problems. And your bad presentiment was on the verge of happening.
Indeed as you and Sabo were entering the room where the important documents are supposed to be, Suddenly an ambush, Sabo and you tried to defend yourselves while trying to be as discreet as possible so as not to attract even more enemies, but unfortunately you made a wrong move and took a blow on the head which knocked you unconscious.
Sabo's face contorted in pain at the sight of you, injured, but that wasn't the worst of it, because unfortunately, more reinforcements had arrived and the number of enemies had become too great. Sabo tried to save you, but it was way too late. Sabo saw you being kidnapped by a celestial dragon and something broke inside his mind and heart.
With the others members of the revolutionary, he planed a way to get you back. And when he finally saw you again, trapped inside a box where the celestial dragons could play with you like you were a slave , torture you to try to get you to spill information about the revolutionary army, but you held firm and didn't confess anything that’s when Sabo realized what was the feeling he experienced when he first saw you kidnapped.
In a world full of war, crime and discrimination there is only a little place for love and hope. That’s when he realized why his heart beats in a different way, different speed when he sees you, when he spends time with you, when you and him exchange your opinions on the world current situation and how the world’s government is corrupted.
He realized that on war time every second counts that maybe one day he wakes up and he finds dead he wouldn’t have had the time to tell you everything he wanted to say before it was too late, and this incident reminded him of that. This truth shook him to his core.
And when you came back to the revolutionary army’s base after your rescue, something in Sabo changed, he places greater value on the value of time and how important it is to speak up before it's too late. Perhaps now he will stop remaining silent about his feelings and will have the courage to express what he feels before the chaos of war takes everything away.
