So glad others are discovering ER through Noah Wyle on The Pitt too, and that the BentonCarter fandom is expanding as a result. Prior to the Pitt airing in January 2025, BentonCarter had 15 fics on Ao3. Now, there's 120. 38 have been posted this year already. Kind of glad I just found the fandom too, because I wouldn't have survived on less than we already have for them. Shout out to the OG shippers though! Can't imagine what it was like to be one of the lonely few back then.
Benton and Carter's progress throughout the series has me feeling a bit wobbly if I'm honest
the fact that they had Benton be there for him not only directly after being attacked but also supervising his recovery AND THEN also be there for his intervention/ taking him for rehab himself and checking him in???
this pair started off with benton trying to forget that carter even exists and has him then hold him in his arms and kiss his head so tenderly after his breakdown. i think i might puke
