Do you think when Theo is having a meltdown cause he misses his parents, and in a flash, he spots Eddie and reaches out with his tiny hands to him, crying "Daddy," cause although they don't look similar, his grieving brain mistakes him for his dad. But right then and there, Eddie decides that Theo is his son just as much as Chris is Buck's. He sweeps Theo in a huge hug, one that makes Theo feel so safe and secure as Eddie lets him cry it all out.
Eddie can see Buck standing by his bedroom door, looking worried. He mouths that he's got this and watches Buck's shoulders droop down as he walks away. He then sees Christopher walk past his door towards Buck. Chris looks at Eddie and mouths back to him, "I got this," with a smile as he makes his way to Buck.
Ryan and Oliver both consistently saying from the moment s9 ended that Buck and Eddie will continue co-parenting Christopher AND they’ll be co-parenting Theo is so funny to me like they didn’t even give the writers or show runners– NO ONE a chance to say anything about the Buckley-Diaz family before them and I think that’s simultaneously the most beautiful but also funny thing they have done this summer.
Eddie and Chris are spending the day at Buck’s..
After a fun eventful day, Theo gets tired and starts yawning, when Buck tells him it’s time for bed, he insists that he wants Eddie to put him in bed and read him a story.
After some time, Buck goes to check on them because Eddie took so long, and when he gently opens the door, he finds Theo sleeping, and Eddie is next to him also asleep while his arm is wrapped around Theo as Theo was snuggled into him, while the story he was reading to Theo has fallen into his lap still open like they fell asleep in the middle of it
Buck quietly walks into the room and gently takes the book, closes it, and puts it away, and when he looks at Eddie and Theo he can’t help but stare with a smile on his face
His gaze focused on Eddie, and how beautiful and peaceful he looks while asleep, and he can’t help but softly touching Eddie’s face
While still asleep Eddie unconsciously relaxes into Buck’s touch.
After a second or two Eddie suddenly opens his eyes, as it takes him a moment to realize where he is, Buck pulls his hand away like he’d got burned
Then they lock eyes, both of them get flustered as a blush creeps up both their faces, and a shy smile on their lips

"Do you know when you're going back to work?" Tommy asks.
Buck's grateful for a second pair of eyes on Theo, who can speedrun the whole kids castle in about thirty seconds. "I haven't decided yet. Plus, I should probably just transfer because I picked a fight with Chimney."
"What happened?" Tommy doesn't even sound surprised, just steady.
Buck's grateful for that too. "He's been a huge asshole to me since he became captain. I don't really know why? But it's not even that, I'm used to it. He brought Theo into it, and I just, I saw red."
"I'll bet."
"I just, he's, I can't let Theo grow up thinking people should talk to him the way that…"
"The way they talk to you?"
"I guess." He lets that sit while Theo races another kid across the suspension bridge. "I think I've done a lot of things wrong."
"Probably not as many as you think."
Fuck it. "I miss you," Buck says. "I…I wanted to call. I mean, after we broke up, I baked so much. I baked constantly."
"You baked?" Tommy looks confused, but he's got a smile on too.
"Yeah. Every time I wanted to call you, I baked something. I went through so much flour. My friends started refusing my cookies. And they were good! I just had too many. And then after, the, after…I mean, I wanted to call. Apologize. I don't know. I was talking to Maddie. She got in my head. I…I'm sorry. Even if it's way too late. I'm still sorry. I never really gave up on you, maybe. Never got you out of my head. I hear a helicopter and I miss you. I hope we run into you on a call. I go to a club, I meet someone, I try to feel it, and even if I do, there's a part of me thinking, they're not him." Buck blinks. "Sorry. That's, I'm sorry."
"Is it?" Tommy asks, looking straight ahead.
"Is it what?"
"Too late?"
"What, even now? Now that I have a kid who whooaaa, Theo!" Buck springs off the bench and scampers toward the tube slide, which Theo is currently scaling the outside of. "Hey, bud," Buck says, lifting him off. "Innovative thinking. But let's go to the climbing wall over here, it's safer to climb on."
"I wanna climb up the slide!" Theo yells.
"But if you do, the younger kids are gonna try, and they're gonna get hurt, so we gotta look out for them, me and you together, all right?"
Theo considers this for two seconds. "Okay!"
"Oh, you're good," Tommy whispers, catching up.
