I will not lie, I would like to see most of the Pilgrims dressed in the traditional clothes of the different countries/areas they went through on the Journey. Maybe some of the modern clothes, or from a decades back.
(Bajie is debatable, Wujing all depends on the clothes.)
Ao Lie in different tack, while not realistic might be interesting. Since his human form is as far as I know just an LMK thing.

- Sanzang being bowled over by Wukong’s Tibetan mastiff Daemon on the very first meeting, cos Wukong and her have *no* sense of the touch taboo.
- Sanzang’s brown mare daemon carrying the luggage of the pilgrimage while bajie’s cocker spaniel daemon nips her heels.
- the 金鹏大鸟 pinning wukongs daemon under one talon having yanked her out of him.

I’ve seen a few people mention that it’s hard to write JTTW food because there was basically nothing to eat before mass trade kicked off in like 1600s, but we need to consider that Sun Wukong could go anywhere he damn pleased and probably gave his (very confused) master a potato at some point while looking for food.
