Hey everyone, and welcome to the stitchshow! The gimmick blog is as thus: I see posts here on Tumblr and I turn them into embroidery. If you have had a post turned into embroidery and do not like this, please reach out. If you have general questions, my ask box is nearly always open, please feel free to send it my way.

The "I have free will" art post is at about 30k notes and what if I freeze reblogs on it because I'm sick of it being turned into a pithy fandom mantra

If I have any goal here now other than making Tumblr users enjoy embroidery and perhaps even giving it a try, it's to make people stop saying they're "afraid" of specific things in embroidery. This gets projected on me constantly as well but even if it didn't - it's satin stitch. It's a french knot. It's a needle and thread to make art. You're allowed your preferences and your favorites and your dislikes but are you really fucking afraid of thread?? And why do you assume my preferences are rooted in being scared instead of long standing experience and knowing what I don't like? What's the worst that will happen, it won't turn out how you thought it would? Then try it again and apply what you learned previously.

finally playing pokemon shield. this game would be so good if it was at all good. wow. why are the spritzee and swirlix evo items locked behind wretched prize odds that i am not allowed to soft reset on. would anyone happen to have spares of those items so i can get the shiny charm and move on with my life.

Does this happen with every hoop you've ever used? I would try different hoops because mine stay tight.

it could be either tbh. brand name threads like dmc, anchor, and cosmo have far less shedding and lint. a needle could have a burr in the eye. change your needle or try a different thread. if one change doesn't fix it, change the other.

no, the color doesn't impact ease of stitching. the brushbug was an extreme where this would have been the most likely case for it to happen but i didn't have any issues personally, though everyone in my life was checking in on my eyes during the making process lol.

does it have to be a specific stitch? you can't just combine threads of different colors in a needle?

yeah most of the skills I find transfer are how to keep tension and handling fibers. for the same reason, people who enter embroidery from knitting tend to have an easier time. i would just pick a project that looks appealing to you tbh.
