star trek is often clumsy with its metaphors but it also is very fucking open about what they are and what they mean. so its fucking baffling when you are being beaten over the head with them and still managing to miss them. and then getting mad about things that arent there

#on my knees crying screaming sobbing going are you fucking stupid#ok like the klingons as a species are first and foremost ALIENS#a concept#they are intentionally distict from humans#the metaphors in their various stodies are simply ALLEGORY#you cannot untie them from allegory#you also cannot refuce them to allegory#there is a lot of issues with nonhumans as allegory#it is the inherent flaw of allegory as a storytelling device#but an important part of interpretting allegory is knowing where it is beggining and ending#it is not entirely one to one
