Thanks for the ask! I've been meaning to put out an actual summary of my AU and my plans for it, but I keep forgetting, so this was a good reminder lol. Read to the end for my plans!
The name of the AU is Instinct, which I'm sure you've seen at the top of my character sheets, diagrams, and comics. The general premise is that the main 5 are college students/field agents at a secretive conservation agency called the IWCA. You can learn more about the IWCA if you scroll down my blog a little-- I made a post about it.
The main 5 live part time in the fictional town of Rockdale, California, and often commute to Westray AFB, a fictional Air Force Base (approximately located at the real life Edwards AFB) that is also home to the IWCA headquarters. The rest of the time, they live on the Tortuga, which is a cargo jet/mobile headquarters similar to The Bus from Agents of Shield.
As field agents, their job is to take down unethical companies, sometimes from the inside, sometimes through force, and sometimes through revealing the companies' tactics to the public to cause a scandal. I don't have the whole plot figured out quite yet, but I know that the crew will face off against each of the villains at some point (I know more than that but no spoilers!).
There are a couple subplots too-- the most important being slow burn Caviva. This is a little self-indulgent, but hey, isn't that what fanfic is for? Anyway, you've seen a little bit of their dynamic through my art so far but expect more in the future! Another subplot is Chris (he's the mc/narrator- 3rd person tho) struggling with the morality of the violence that the crew sometimes has to use in their job. Throughout the story, he begins to realize that while Martin has always been the tough one, he values human and animal life too much to be able to pull the trigger when he needs to. That means that the dirty jobs sometimes fall on Chris, which is hard for him.
One final thing-- the IWCA has created a winged mech suit inspired by the peregrine falcon, and Chris ends up as the test pilot. This comes into play in the climax, but I won't say too much there yet.
As for my plans: I'm not quite ready to start writing yet, but my goal is to actually write a fic and put it on AO3! If you guys are interested in that, some feedback/encouragement would be greatly appreciated! I'm not going to put a timeline on it quite yet because as I move into college in the next few weeks, my life is going to get crazy, but I hope to get it started sometime soon :)
