Silvergifting Week

@silvergiftingweek

A week dedicated to Celebrimbor/Mairon | Annatar | Sauron pairing, aka Silvergifting. August 10-16, 2026, mod: @elennalore

Thank you!

Silvergifting Week 2026 is now over. I want to give a big thank you to everyone who participated! You who made fanfic, fan art, edits, playlists, comic, meta... And you who read fics and enjoyed fan art, and left likes and kudos and comments on the works. Fandom is a community, and without you, this event wouldn't have been possible. You're the best!!

For some time, I will check the tag #silvergiftingweek for late entries.

Thank you for sharing silvergifting love!

“I would like to see it,” Celebrimbor murmured. “This universe you made for us. There must be so many wonders out there, such sublime beauty, which we Incarnates will never get to see.”

Spoken aloud, the words sounded foolish: illusory, impossible. A pipe dream.

But Annatar didn’t laugh at him. The Maia just raised his gaze towards the stars. “One day,” he said quietly.

Celebrimbor looked at him, taken aback. “What?”

“One day you are going to see it,” Annatar said, his eyes still fixed on the infinity above, before he turned his head and his eyes found Celebrimbor’s.

Part 2 of Day 3 of @silvergiftingweek 2026.

Life got on top of me and it's no longer technically @silvergiftingweek, but I'm here with a final Arda Unmarred snippet. Thank you to everyone who's been reading these self-indulgent little snippets!

Earlier parts: day 1, day 2, day 3, day 4. Content warnings at the bottom.

Day 5 - Betrayal

Mairon sits on the bed and watches Tyelpë sleep. He’s curled up on one side, an arm thrown carelessly across Mairon’s lap, wisps of his unbound hair falling loose around his face. There are still smudges of make-up around his eyes, and half a smile drifting around his kiss-bitten lips. Even asleep, contentment and love radiate out of him, drifting up their newly-formed marriage bond Illuin’s light filters in through the window, illuminating Tyelpë’s sleeping face and glinting off the dagger Mairon holds in his hand. He should have done it last night. Should have done as soon as they arrived, breathless and glowing, from the ceremony downstairs. But Tyelpë had been kissing him from the moment they shut the door, laughingly coaxing him towards bed, and he hadn’t – hadn’t been able to. He’d justified it to himself on the grounds that it would hurt more, if their marriage bond were sealed. And the hurting was the point. Even now, he’s reluctant, spinning excuses that will let him live another hour, another day, another year alongside Telperinquar, their lives stretching out into static, blissful eternity. He has to do it now. Carefully, he rolls Tyelpë over onto his back. He’s still naked from their lovemaking, and it’s easy for Mairon to press the knife to the spot between his ribs that he’s identified as being most efficient. Tyelpë stirs slightly at the press of cold metal, and Mairon’s breath catches, some part of him screaming in desperate hope that he’ll wake up. But he doesn’t, and so Mairon has to act. He pushes the blade in with a single, smooth movement. It pierces Tyelpë’s heart. Their marriage bond lights up, a screaming note in the back of Mairon’s mind that there is something wrong, pain shuddering bright and horrible between them. Tyelpë’s eyes fly open and he draws in a horrible, shaking breath, but it’s too late. The connection between is taking on a grey, metallic flavour, pulling Tyelpë’s spirit away as the body that held the best and brightest of the eldar becomes a pile of meat. Everything breaks. There’s an ache in Mairon’s chest, a sucking void, as if the knife his slid into his own heart and not Tyelpë’s. The world tilts on its side, dark at the edges. Nothing feels real, the objects in the room reduced suddenly to constituent parts, carbon and oxygen and iron, bound together with the ordered tone that organises the universe, the thread of the Song. It’s louder than Mairon has ever heard it before, less harmonious, a horrifying cacophony of voices. It takes Mairon a long time to realise that the screaming is him. He can’t stop, the pain of the broken bond, of the burst of violence, of the knowledge that it was him too much to bear. He screams and screams, until the walls start to fall apart and people are starting to notice. He screams until his body gives out and his spirit bursts forth and he has nothing he can do but fly away, as far as possible from the horror of what he’s done. In their bed, Tyelpë’s red blood seeps slowly out, the first murder in Almaren marring its soft, white sheets.

Content warnings: Spousal murder. That's it that's the fic. Specifically spousal murder on their wedding night.

...Yeah when I said an Arda Unmarred AU I actually meant a 'Marring of Arda' AU. I actually don't think this is how it would go down if I were to write a full AU – the thoughts I have cast Tyelpë as a much more active agent in his own Doom – but for a silvergifting prompt week, horrible betrayal and murder seemed like the right way to end.

Thank you for reading!

Hi, thank you so much for running this week, I've loved seeing everyone's silvergifting works and all the different responses to the prompts 😊 life got slightly on top of me this week and I haven't quite finished the last piece I wanted to submit, is there any chance we can sneak something in a day late? 😭

Hi, and thank you, it's been a pleasure running this week. Yes, you can submit late entries! Just tag the blog so that I know of them. Happy creating!

How is that there isn’t a smidgen of question about some things, and everyone can accept that, and you keep seeking a way around the boundary, or under it, or over it, or breaking straight through? What kind of fool desires to look directly at the sun?

Part 1 of my entry for Day 3 of @silvergiftingweek. I split the chapter because it grew into a monstrosity and I did not want to delay posting any longer. Part 2 should be up shortly!

Across the sea, after the end of all things, Annatar makes an apology.

For Day 7 of Silvergifting Week 2026 (@silvergiftingweek): Valinor, Post-Canon

Image description:

Moodboard in tones of misty rose, gold, and silver, with the Sara Teasdale quote, “Let this single hour atone / For the theft of all of me”.

1. A silver ocean gleams beneath the rosy sky at dawn.

2. White marble columns rise like a mist into graceful arches.

3. Against the spangled light of ocean waves, a tentative hand reaches out, hardly daring to touch.

4. A familiar silhouette appears against the sky, obscured by golden sparks.

5. Two backlit faces are about to kiss, one above the other. One person is fair-haired, the other dark; the former’s golden tresses fall in a soft veil over both of them.

6. A delicate tracery of branches glitters with morning dew.

7. A single closed eye - no longer The Eye - has a teardrop trembling on its lashes, ready to fall.

8. Along a wave-swept beach, solitary footprints stretch off into the distance. It has been a long and lonely journey down the years.

9. A beloved face comes softly into focus, limned with light, as all things are quietly made new.

Written for the 7th and final 🥳 day of @silvergiftingweek

Valinor | Post-canon | Modern AU

Summary:

In his humble opinion, this only happens in boring TV-series... But Celebrimbor doesn't watch such things, and the angel who appeared at night on the threshold of his car service was quite real. And last time he checked, he wasn't on the filming set.

In Eternity, Mine

my offering for @silvergiftingweek

In the darkened halls of Barad-Dûr, Mairon, Lord of the Earth, reflects on the past and all that he had with Celebrimbor Curufinwion, creator of the Rings of Power and Mairon’s departed lover. My entry for #Silvergiftingweek Day 6 - Canon Divergence AU @silvergiftingweek

Pairing: Celebrimbor/Annatar

Rating: Explicit

Summary: Annatar does not forge the One Ring, but he attacks Eregion nonetheless. After he carries Celebrimbor out of the burning city, they end up in a small village in a long, cold winter, trying to figure out where they go from here.

Alternative first meeting | Canon divergence AU | Offspring

Summary:

It was a sudden, searing flash, an internal explosion more potent than a thousand erupting volcanoes, hotter than the breath of the mightiest dragon, more brilliant than metal brought to its incandescent, absolute melting point. How could this happen? Yet here, in the simple, loving arms of a lower being… Elf, the miracle had blossomed inside him.
