does…anyone have any idea how we’re supposed to feel about StarClan from now on? mockery, extreme thought control, and physical torture to the point of miscarriage are genuinely some of the gentler ways they treat StormClan…before they’ve even done anything objectively wrong. StormClan fails because they’re brutally punished and pushed to fail by their ancestors over and over and over again. for thinking bad thoughts. i truthfully might just be stupid but it really feels like we’re supposed to read them as correct. “I should have listened, and I should have obeyed.” is almost scarier than when they actually physically tortured him

yknow everyone is talking about StarClan taking away gale and stripe's lives but can we talk about how they fucked over tinyclaw??? girl was noted to be working her ass off to rebuild ThunderClan after stripestar's disaster but she doesn't get to become leader or even stay deputy bc she was too loyal to a bad leader? WHERE WAS THAT ENERGY FOR BABY-STEALING MURDEROUS THUG BLACKSTAR (WHO ALSO HAD A FUCKING CLAN FOUNDER AT HIS CEREMONY)?

never getting over the fact that Crookedstar waged war against ThunderClan for Stormkit and Featherkit, only for those same kits to be thrown in an old foxhole and nearly murdered six-ish moons later.
like. RiverClan was willing to die for those kits. and then they cheered when Tigerstar called them blood traitors and told Stonefur to kill them. it's the cruelest twist of fate in the entire series imo.
it's truly insane how much more functional society would be and how much happier everyone would be if every job was perpetually 10% overstaffed (and people who weren't needed could chill and rotate in when needed while still getting paid) instead of 10-50% understaffed but that wouldn't be 'efficient' (in the short term, for shareholders) so fuck everyone I guess
I know people aren’t going to like this take but I do not at all think Sleekwhisker is this awesome sassy girlboss. I don’t think her and Darktail were this fun partners in crime duo. I don’t think Sleekwhisker proud of herself.
It is far more accurate in canon to remember that Sleekwhisker canonically felt manipulated by Darktail. She was still a teenager. Darktail used her vulnerability to manipulate (and I would honestly say groom) her into violence. Any admiration she showed for Darktail is not a silly little moment of haha this cat is evil and loves this older guy or whatever. She was a teenager who grew frustrated by her home treating her as a problem child.
Sleekwhisker has the potential to be a far more interesting character than anyone gives her credit for. Because sometimes victims never escape the cycle of violence they were exposed to. Sometimes they end up perpetuating it towards others. And viewing her as a victim of abuse who could never recover is more accurate to what we know about her.
like it does matter. it does in fact matter. you can feel it when you're the only nonwhite person in a room and it is fucking weird. you can fucking feel in your body how uncomfortable and strange it is to only have white people in a space. it's deeply unsettling and deeply unenjoyable for everyone but the white people.
Just thinking about the scene in Sunset where Hawkfrost is driving Stormfur out of RiverClan, Brambleclaw admires Hawkfrost for doing this, thinks that he would never have the “courage to make a blatant bid for power himself” and then afterwards tells Stormfur that Hawkfrost had a point actually.
