Hi! I am a long time follower of your blog and, of course, Kizu Natsuki sensei and everything concerning her and her works too! I notice that since the epidemic, Kizu sensei has not published any new doujinshis and she is also seemingly making way less arts than before. What gives? Is there any specific reason? Is it the case that she is able to support herself financially better now and does not have to work so much as before? If it is indeed so, I am quite happy for her! Although it is undeniable that the lack of works makes me quite disappointed and thirsty 😅. If it is possible, can you recommend some authors who have similar style to Kizu sensei, in art and in writing?

Hey~ I'm not quite sure what's going on in her personal life. Considering how every volume of Given got 30+ or even 40+reprints, I'm fairly certain Sensei is well off now. Last I checked, she was working on some kinda doujin for a JP V-tuber company. I wish i could give you recs but I dont know any authors that have a similar style. I do like 'Hishakaishindo' by Enjo, 'Under my skin' by Usui iroha, as well as 'Oni to tengoku' by Aga Naomi. I mostly read isekai manhwa these days, sorry!

Thank you for your kind words! I appreciate it^^ Ngl, our team did consider picking it up but we didn't. We burnt out. I worked on it for nearly 6 years and there was a lot of toxicity after the anime happened.

Now that the first three chapters of the Given Mix are out, I’d like to hear your opinion about how the story is progressing after the ten year time skip.

Honestly, I read one chapter and quit. I guess I ended up hating Given. It brings me no joy, nor am I curious about it. The bullying on the internet got to me I think. As for my opinion, I'm aware it ended pretty quickly. I'm glad sensei kept it short and sweet. Idk what happened in the story though...

So now that Given is done, what is your overall feeling or takeaway from the series? You've been covering it since the beginning, it must be bittersweet for you. It's just hitting me now that the series is over since it was so important to me and it makes me a little sad that it's over.

To be honest, there's so much, but mainly that life goes on no matter what.

Given meant a lot me, but stuff happened behind the scenes which really ruined it for me. If it weren't for my fantastic teammates, I would've given up on it. I couldn't wait for it to end, but when we were scanlating the final chapter, that's when it really hit me. It certainly WAS a bittersweet feeling. I felt empty and I was really sad about it ending because it had inspired me in so many ways, and I also made a few good friends because of it.

Kizu natsuki sensei announced a side story for Given btw. It will be serialised in Cheri+ and the first chapter is set for release end of Jan 2024. She also mentioned she doesn't know how many chapters there will be in the end.

And I'm sorry I took forever to reply!

the thing about being in a fandom for a long time is you inevitably develop very intense opinions about things you know objectively are absolutely meaningless but nonetheless make you want to gnaw through drywall like a feral cat and there's just nothing you can do about that
