not really an AU just wanted to practice drawing colonial clothing.
the contrasts are way different but as much as possible I wanted to keep the hierarchy. cutler and jacob are great framing to form a spectrum of proximity to europe. cutler retains much of the european style compared to anyone else while jacob is overtly "oriental". totally enjoyed adding volumes on the native textiles lolol. the friend retains the same silhouette with less layers tbh.
whitehead was the most annoying of the bunch because depicting caste vs class is wildly different and you have to commit to the climate. i cant retain his silhouette with a buff coat because it's too fucking hot; instead i used an unbuttoned jerkin. i settled with emphasizing the baro's length and him wearing Spanish breeches which is a horrible identity crisis but a bearable silhouette. My goodness.
