It feels like I’ve talked about this before, but to me the funniest version of Portal is if Chell is deaf.

Like, most of the major story beats, at least the ones that directly affect her, have a prominent visual component so she’s following along with the basics. But she has no idea who cave johnson is, or what wheatley was trying to explain to her, and she certainly wasn’t hurt by any of glados’ insults.

but the best part of this headcanon is imagining glados checking chell’s personnel file years down the line, noticing the word “deaf” for the first time, and just going “WHAT???”

Glados learning sign language so Chell can hear at least one of her excellent monologues and Chell just closes her eyes

Okay this kinda fucks

This entirely fucks and also Banjo there has some impressive breath control, given he had to basically speed up and string together a lot of what in the original was spaced out to give the lead singer time to, you know, inhale.

There's such a Thing of like. Presuming a lot of feminismposts about beauty standards etc being a cis woman (or at least tme more broadly) Thing & there's truth to the idea that it's much more risky for transfems to be clocked as supposedly masculine, but, like. It's depressing to me every time I see a transfem talking about how she Does Have To shave her legs/wear makeup Every Day/etc whether she wants to or not ... you 🫵 can exist in your body's natural state too if you don't want to be doing all of that. I know transfems who don't shave their body hair and it's fine. Feminism is for you too I promise. Take my hand

And there's also truth to the idea that the context for a lot of conventional feminine presentation is different for transfems! Like! If you get gender euphoria from Doing All That that's one thing and I'm happy for you. But I feel like a lot of girls are tired and frustrated with these expectations of womanhood and think it's inescapable, like the refusal of it "isn't for them", and I'M telling you it's okay. Or, like. Maybe the little extra scrutiny could be worth it if it makes you happier. There ARE exceptions in circumstances where it wouldn't be physically safe obviously but fewer people want to hunt you for sport than you might think

It feels similar to the issue of thinking transfems can't be nonbinary, that it "isn't for them", like ....... the exclusion in a lot of spaces is real but you don't have to accept this. Yknow. It makes me so sad seeing transfems internalize these ideas about what they "can't do" because of their transfemininity

Fat Horse No. 33

It’s the year of the horse and I’ve always been a horse girl at heart, so I’m finally taking advantage of the excuse to fill the world with fat little horses! These felted friends are about the size (and shape!) of an apple, and if you happen to have any apples to share I’m sure they’d help you out! Blue roan is a fascinating color - I may have gone a LITTLE more denim than the real thing, but not by much!

This piece will be part of a herd of fat horses at Furrydelphia, August 7-9th!

This horse was inspired by Ronny, a gorgeous 18 hand Belgian draft who visited Anthrocon this year with the charity. He was an absolute delight, and there’s nothing quite like seeing an actual horse walking out of the den at the end of the day!

the thing about State Parks is they range from Pleasant Nothingburger #52 to The Tightest Shit You Ever Saw That Nobody's Heard Of

imagine randomly stumbling across Palouse Falls State Park in the middle of bugfuck nowhere single-lane highway and fields in every direction. it could happen to you. it happened to me.

Holy shit the US Military tested an experimental GPS jammer and caused a civilian plane crash that kills everyone on board in May.

When the Federal Aviation Administration shut down air traffic to El Paso Airport earlier this year, nobody could have guessed than an experimental high-energy laser weapon was the cause. After days of chaos and speculation, it was revealed that Customs and Border Patrol officials had fired off a laser volley from a US Army base adjacent the El Paso Airport. Though the trigger-happy Border Patrol grunts evidently thought they were firing at drug-smuggling drones, their real target turned out to be a kids’ party balloon. Regardless, it was later reported that the cutting-edge weapon was taken for a test-drive a week before FAA and Pentagon officials had a chance to discuss how to safely implement the laser device, making it a small miracle that nobody in the air was killed. Not every use of an experimental aerospace weapon goes off without a hitch, however.
New bombshell reporting by Wired reveals an incident in which the testing of an experimental GPS jammer resulted in a medical plane crashing into the side of a mountain.
