" This too shall pass "

I believe that good will always overcome evil, just as spring comes, and with it eternal life, overcoming the bitter cold of winter. We will overcome this genocide very soon with God's help and your continued help and support. One of the advantages we achieved during the war is to convey to you our voice, which has not been heard for many years, and to reveal the nature of this occupation and its actions that have been covered up for hundreds of years.

I would like to introduce you to my simple Palestinian family, who lived in peace in a very beautiful house consisting of a ground and upper floor and a charming garden that we renovated shortly before the war, but the occupation had a different opinion regarding the barbaric bombing of civilians and homes. The occupation destroyed our dear home, which reminded me of my father, the dearest person in the world. My life, may God have mercy on him. The occupation killed every happy and even sad memory by bombing our house.

This is my aunt Rifqa, my younger brother Ahmed, in his last year of school before university. My aunt's house was next door to ours, and she had been single for years. She was not married, and since we are a small family, I have no uncles, because my father was single. It was always my duty to check on my aunt and provide her with everything from food, drink, medicine, and everything else. Before I went to university every day, I always liked to go there to have breakfast together, chat and get her approval before I went to my studies. The memories of the occupation bombing my aunt’s house also disappeared.

This our beloved home before and after Israeli bombing 💔

My priority is to help this kind old woman, when the Rafah crossing is opened, to leave the Gaza Strip safely for Egypt. I do not care about the homes destroyed by the occupation. Money can be compensated, but the soul can be compensated. I don't want to see my aunt again. I want her to be with us again. This is really what I want. I want to send her money so that she can support herself in the northern Gaza Strip. The prices are crazy, folks, especially the food prices.

this is my friend Ali Al-Tababi, and my name is Ghazi Sheto, but he was closer to me than many people in my family. I met Ali at university, and we had a goal: to graduate and work together. We will stay up all night to make this dream come true. He was always at my house, playing, studying, sleeping together and going to university together. We were conjoined twins. Quote. Him and all his family members. You can see the massacre of the Tabatabai family. May God have mercy on them all. I want to fulfill my dream and my friend’s dream and bring my aunt to Egypt and build my house again if possible.

He asked for 30 thousand as compensation, less than a little for what we lost in the war. Frankly, our homes cost half a million dollars, but I asked for 30 thousand so that I could bring my aunt and protect her soul from being killed and so that she could do that. Come to Egypt safely and give her food and drink while she is stuck in northern Gaza, but unfortunately I have only collected $500 so far.

These donations will go to my aunt, the old woman stranded in the northern Gaza Strip, to give her the opportunity to travel, protect her life from being killed, and secure her daily sustenance of food and nutrition. I ask everyone who can help, do not hesitate, because we really need help. Thank you all, and I hope you don't suffer as I do. We suffered, especially my weak aunt.

i Hope you all good thanks you for our support towards our cause 🙏🤍

my top 12 favorite movies

thank you for the tag @flovoid and @moonlitfalls

tagging @erohiero @virtualfolk @filippovnabey @pinuho . feel free to ignore of course (but i feel like you all would have really interesting taste in film..)

explaining my top 12 at the request of @erohiero you can't complain you asked for this

1. the matrix dir. lana and lilly wachowski

what can i even say.. the movie that started it all for me, the movie that got me into movies. on its face the film is just thrilling to watch. it's stylishly shot and edited and acted but upon rewatch it reveals layers of depth (regarding characters, story, film theory and technique and theme but also philosophical) and every time i rewatch it it reveals something new to me. the best films are those that don't remain static where your first impression is unchanging from your last but those whose depths continue to be revealed 20 rewatches in. it was the first time i saw a piece of art that felt like it was made specifically for me and my aesthetic sensibilities. for this reason it is a very personal film to me. also i am 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️ (has there ever been a bigger film for transgender people?) and named myself after neo of course. was there any other option? i love this film's world and its characters and the questions it poses which i have been pondering and will continue to ponder forever.

2. crash dir. david cronenberg

i have talked ad nauseam about this film in other places (my review with heavy spoilers here for anyone interested..) so i won't get into the story reasons why i love this so much and find its exploration of trauma highly fascinating and psychologically revealing but i will say i love how elegant and mature cronenberg's filmmaking is here. for a film with subject matter that has the potential for being outlandish the filmmaking is rather restrained (for cronenberg) and i find the edit and score to be hypnotic and manipulative and i mean that as a compliment. cronenberg takes you on such a specific and atmospheric journey here that you cannot look away from.

3. harakiri dir. masaki kobayashi

the two before this movie have more personal meanings to me which is why they are higher than this but harakiri is easily the best film ever made i am so serious. perfect. wholly perfect. nothing could be changed here that would make this a better film i think any change would have made it weaker. thrilling and engaging to watch but reveals layers of depth and is all told with a masterful grasp of the art medium. an unforgettable story. it's difficult to talk about without spoilers but the story and its characters made a huge impact on me. and the performances.. rest in peace tatsuya nakadai you will always be famous. perfect!

4. chinatown dir. roman polanski

i'm a sucker for noir and this is a fantastic neo noir. the story is as twisty and complex as you would hope for a noir but the more human elements at play really ground the story and make its story heartbreaking and unforgettable. the filmmaking quality is very high and i love the two lead performances here. jack nicholson as jj gittes i will remember you forever. faye dunaway as evelyn cross i will remember you forever.

5. lost highway dir. david lynch

basically the same plot as my favorite game of all time (silent hill 2) if you really think about it...... it's really impossible to put into words how a lynch film makes you feel. the atmospheres he creates are so immersive and fascinating and magnetic that his films leave a lifelong impression and this is the world he created that draws me in the most out of all of his works. i love its visual style and its noir story and elements and the characters and the world and the feeling it gives me. rest easy david lynch.

6. the devils dir. ken russell

one of the most batshit insane movies ever put to the medium. the style is grandiose (the costuming here omfg... some of my favorite costuming of all time) and balls to the walls.. it doesn't hold back. but most of all i love its exploration of sexuality (repression vs incontinence) and how each ruins the lives of these characters. i have an essay about that that i've been meaning to write for YEARS atp but haven't gotten around to.....)

7. high and low dir. akira kurosawa

need i even explain....? akira kurosawa is one of the greats of the medium and it really truly is for good reason.. like he's just perfect at what he does what can i say. like he's just perfect. this was my first kurosawa iirc and it has remained my favorite. thrilling story with high quality filmmaking (everybody talks about the blocking in this movie but it really is just that good) and great performances.

8. taxi driver dir. martin scorsese

another one of those films that really is that good by a director that really is that good. an endlessly fascinating story with endlessly fascinating characters and an endlessly fascinating performance by bob de niro. travis bickle is a very psychologically rich character and the story has so much depth and room for analysis.. i'm always uncovering something new on a rewatch. also the film itself is beautifully shot and edited of course but that fucking SCORE.. omfg.

9. perfect days dir. wim wenders

kind of the odd one out of my taste way too happy and optimistic for me traditionally but again it is one of those film which constantly reveals new layers and new depths on a rewatch. koji yakusho gives the performance of a fucking LIFETIME here i always say his performance reminds me of the mona lisa in that every time i look at his face in this film i see a different emotion in his eyes and it's fascinating how the same face can reveal so much depth. i think this film is a masterclass in character building and what's amazing is how hirayama has so much depth of character despite not much being explicitly stated about his life.

10. rabbits dir. david lynch

this one is a bit difficult to describe because what makes it so special to me is how it makes me feel and that can't be explained with words. all i can say is that through this strangeness and surrealism lynch expresses such a fascinating truth about contemporary society. it's also really funny.

11. rosemary's baby dir. roman polanski

this one i also can't really explain without getting too personal but all i can say is that i can understand rosemary on depths inconceivable to anybody else. i have such a strong connection to rosemary and what she's been through completely unrelated to the motherhood aspects of the story. i also just think the filmmaking is great here. it's a beautiful and truly frightening film.

12. loving vincent dir. hugh and dk welchman

i never talk about this on here but i am a van gogh superfan but moreso for learning about his life and the man himself than his art (though i do love his art of course..). a dream would be to be a van gogh historian i love that man to death. not only are the technical aspects of this film highly impressive and visually striking (especially the use of the black and white sections) but from my research and understanding of vincent as a person this is the film that captured his personality and his essence the best. rest in peace vincent you deserved to know how beloved you are.

oh and by the way since the ts4 cc tag has been overrun with ai slop, i'm using the hashtag "aifreecc" from now on. ideally it'd be nice if other anti-ai creators do the same so we don't have to keep sorting through slop.
