Limited edition porcelain collectors plate featuring scenes from the Lloyd Webber Phantom of the Opera musical. This plate was produced by The Franklin Mint sometime around the late 1990’s or early 2000’s. They were apparently made in a version with a music box device, and one without. They can still be found on the secondary market, but tend to be on the pricy side.

i will say it is kind of funny when i tell people who ask me how i want to be referred that "[their] guess is as good as mine"/"i don't really care when it comes to that stuff" that they emphasize masculine terms for me. a customer once greeted me with "miss" but then when i handed him his receipt he yelled "thank you very much SIR 😇" bro i just told you it's fine.

actually maybe it's a little sadder than i thought because transphobes pushed the idea of "DID YOU JUST ASSUME MY GENDER⁉️⁉️⁉️" so much that everyone's become paranoid. but while i can't say the fear of accidentally misgendering is entirely unfounded (just not from the aforementioned "joke" obviously) it's like... i'm not saying i don't care as some defeatist acceptance of never being Truly Seen or playing mind games with you here, i just genuinely do not care how you refer to me.

i often find myself in a situation at work where due to being on masculinizing hrt for a considerable amount of time and having a masculine legal name but a presenting femininely through clothing and accessories, customers who approach me and greet us by name will stop themselves, notice that there's some Flavor of Gender Variance™️ about me, and ask "uh, it is [name], right?" to which i reply with "yes..?" and then that leads to "oh okay, i just wanna be respectful!" and i guess i should appreciate the sentiment but also 1. if it wasn't respectful i wouldn't have written the name on my own name tag and 2. if it wasn't respectful, do you really think this is a position where i'd be able to safely/comfortably out myself...? do you think i would even want to out myself to a random stranger i'm probably never going to see again??? and like if i told you i Did go by a different name and the off chance you do come in again and you tell a coworker or manager or whoever "[not-name] did a great job they were super helpful!!" they're gonna have no idea who the hell you're talking about. and then if you describe me/point to me then well You just outed me.
