Honestly the most beautiful rendition of Hey Ho The Wind And The Rain from Propeller Theatre’s Twelfth Night
oh my god, I saw this production about 3 or 4 years ago and it has literally never left my heart, its stuck with me like Tennant’s Richard II it was all just so amazing
well I’m going to the swan theatre in stratford tomorrow to do a 10-minute version of King John, alongside lots of other amateur theatre companies, and this will be the end of a project that started in january. im goin to be dead sad to leave it
YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYYY SAD BUT YAY UNTIL THE SAD REALLY STARTS
after our bit in the show today I was really tired so I lay on the ground in the actor's rest room and one of our actors came up, looked down at me and recited 'O death! Made proud with fair and princely beauty!' and i just fuckin burst out laughing
the official flyer for the Stratford Open Stages Showcase 2015!! I am in King John by The Lace Market Theatre. There are still plenty of seats and tickets are very cheap so come along!!
ok im considering reading Coriolanus
and here is EVERYTHING i know about it so far
- he’s gay (with aufidius??)
- its extremely long
- apparently theres one scene which JUST GOES ON FOREVER
- he’s gay (with aufidius??)
- volumnia gets shit done and has a really good speech
- tom hiddles was in it last year and it was really good and i missed it and thats why everyone has apparently seen it
- greek stuff? greek battles and shit
- i often mix bits of it up with pericles, thats the incest one
- he’s gay (with aufidius??)
- but aufidius also pisses him off and he ends up killing him because he’s sick of living with him??
- there is SO MUCH FANFICTION FOR IT on ao3 like jesus christ you can hardly move for cori fanfictions
but yeah i need to finish Edward II and then the Henriad but after that I’ll have a go at Corrie

ive been reading my first marlowe ever! after a marathon of shakespeare, its ned 2 obvs and I must say marlowe gets to the fuckin point a lot faster than shakespeare most of the time but honestly? I find shakespeare’s language is way more interesting to read...
bro i have seen twelfth night about 4 or 5 times now and have read it and i honestly cant take antonio seriously when people play him as a straight, completely platonic friend to sebastian. it honestly just seems so fake to me if his dialogue is saying
“ I could not stay behind you: my desire, More sharp than filed steel, did spur me forth; “
while his actor is acting it like
“ (haha but like no homo am i right?????) “ it just Does Not Work
and really, what better play to include an unrequited same-gender relationship than twelfth fuckin night. twelfth night guys.
soo i watched the Globe’s 2009 As You Like It
here are my thoughts
- Touchstone was fucking hilarious. i thought he was a really crap Fool when I read the script but god he was GREAT I loved the little dance he made out of the seven stages of argument
- omfg i had such a huge crush on Ros in dudes clothes Orlando you lucky bastard haaaaahhh
- thAT BIT WHEN ORLANDO REALISES WHATS UP WAS FANTASTIC
- Jacques was great too even though he kind of mangled the ‘hour by hour’ speech which is a bitch to do in modern pronunciation and I loved that bit with Amiens singing like ‘more, morrrreeeeeee’ (Amiens was great holy hell such a sprightly dude and a great singer)
- POOR SILVIUS i thought he was an annoying twat in the script but hE WAS SO ADORABLE ON STAGE : (
- jamie parker was flawless. like literally flawless. but then he ALWAYS IS. like how the fuck does he deliver every single 400 year-old word like it’s off the top of his fucking head?????????
- I actually really liked Phoebe too? she was p cute and funny
- CELIA WAS BRILL my bae
- oh MY GOD THAT FIGHT BETWEEN OLIVER AND ORLANDO AT THE BEGINNING WAS SO FUNNY and all those poor unsuspecting groundlings who screamed when these two men start flailing right in front of their faces

My greatest wish is to be of the best As no man hath achieved before myself. Acquiring them is vital to my quest, To train them is the object of my health.
Across great pastures must I travel hence, To search the bounteous land both far and wide. My kin, the Pokemon, must mark in time The power that they hold, when in their prime.

I think it would be great if brutus had a cat and did that “it must be by his death” speech to it whilst stroking it and petting its ears. it would be a a vaguely hilarious juxtaposition but it would also highlight brutus’s non-malicious nature and how his aims really are aimed at rome and the people and not himself
