⚖️ ⏳ ⛓️‍💥 for Casella pretty please?

⚖️ — how are they remembered by history? are they loved, reviled, or something in between? is there anything the history books omit from their life?

lowkey... I can't properly answer this one because I don't want to potentially spoil anything major for when I write the fanfic centered around casella.

I'm so sorry 😭😭💔

⏳ — if you had to place them in any other era of westeros, what would it be and why?

Maybe the Daeron II era just because he had a Martell wife and I think that would be cool for Casella since house Ladybright and House Martell have always been close. She would've had connections to the royal family through her friendship with Myriah Martell/Maron Martell.

⛓️‍💥 — if they studied at the citadel, what links would they forge? do they like learning?

I don't think she likes learning in the traditional sense but she likes learning about other people/the world around her.

I knew absolutely nothing about the links so I had to look it up on the wiki but she would have copper for history I think? And that's about it,, she's leaving that citadel with barely anything 😭

👑 — how would your oc rule if they sat the iron throne? what would their small council look like?

This makes me think about an AU where Ned is the one that ends up as King over Robert....

I mentioned that Elsbeth wouldn't do much as Queen before, that's exactly the opposite of Casella.

She is doing absolutely everything when she's put in that position and I think she's the kind of person to try and help others through her power at her core.

(In my head they let Ned have both his wives because the realm just thought he was too good and let it slide, okay?)

I could see her and Ashara both doing a lot to help women in the realm and improve their lives. I'm thinking back to how Queen Alysanne had women's courts during the royal progress she had with Jaehaerys. They would do that just on the regular!

Things in the realm would just be so peaceful with Nedsharasella ruling the realm,,🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

🛡️— how aligned are they with their house and family in terms of temperament? do they share the same goals? alternatively, do they wish they had been born into another house?

I feel like she's less aligned with house Ladybright when you compare her to her sister or to her aunt. When you see the average overdramatic ladybright woman and you look at her she's calm by comparison.

Not to say she can't have her moments but again when you see her sister the difference is clear. I don't think she minds being born into her house though, she wouldn't want to change it for anything.

🕯️— are they religious? what faith do they follow and why? do they pray of habit or true belief?

Answered here!

I'm taking the question more from the perspective of her as Queen Consort vs. Ruling Queen.

I don't want to paint Elsie in a bad light but I can't see her doing too much with her position as Queen. She's no "Good Queen Alysanne" so to speak. You will not see her doing any of the stuff Margery did to win over the smallfolk's favor because she doesn't care too much on how they view her. She knows she has the favor of multiple noble houses and the favor of her husband/mother-in-law and that's pretty much all she needs.

Not to say that she does bad things as Queen!! She's just very passive in her position compared to other Queen Consorts.

🐉 — if your oc could have ridden any historical dragon, which would it be and why?

you can't tell me that seeing Alyssa on the back of Meraxes wouldn't be the coolest thing ever. I think Alyssa would be similar to Rhaenys the conqueror if she had a dragon.

She's a girl that's seen as kindhearted and sweet on the outside but has a playful and fiery spirit on the inside just waiting to be broken open!

⚖️ — how are they remembered by history? are they loved, reviled, or something in between? is there anything the history books omit from their life?

She didn't have much to look forward to in terms of her future so she isn't as mourned as her brothers are. You see the history books mention Jace in the sense of "I wonder what kind of King he would be" and they talk about him being heir to the Iron Throne. Alyssa wasn't heir to anything. Most people honestly forget that Rhaenyra had a daughter with her first husband at all.

They mention her briefly as Aemond's wife and they talk about their relationship but there isn't much interest on her as a person outside of him.

⏳ — if you had to place them in any other era of westeros, what would it be and why?

I answered this one here!

🕯️— are they religious? what faith do they follow and why? do they pray of habit or true belief?

She is very religious!! She follows the faith of the seven like the rest of her family and she does truly believe in the seven even if they may not answer all of her prayers. There's actually a scene in an unreleased/non-canon wedding chapter that I wrote a draft of that touches on her being religious and how it contrasts with Aemond.

The most important part of the marriage ceremony was now done but the festivities were just beginning. After the Septon made his formal declaration of their union he then led the newlyweds to the altars of the maiden and mother so that they may pray for a happy marriage and healthy future children. The two children both knelt down and picked up their prayer candles. Alyssa’s quiet voice cut through the solemn quiet of the sept with a question. “Do you think the gods will bless us?” Aemond had never been a devout follower of the faith. His mother had tried to instill the importance of the seven into him and his siblings but it never took. None of his prayers had ever been answered. Not really. Anything Aemond ever prayed for was won by his own will, not the gods. “We don’t need the gods.” He whispered back. “We only need each other.”

Not gonna lie I originally thought your Alyssa Time Travel AU had her naturally slotted in there, but then you mentioned in this post that "Alyssa is Valarr's twin" was a story Baelor made up and Jena was weary about it and now I'm like. What do the rest of the Targaryens think about this?? Like there's no way they all fell for it, they'd know if they had an extra family member. Valarr at least, like you can't just tell someone "surprise, you had a twin this whole time!" and not have them a little suspicious (even if Baelor said "yeah, we hid her away for some reason" wouldn't Valarr then have Some Thoughts about hypothetically having a whole sister taken from him?)

Sorry this is so rambling, I am just very curious about, like, the specific dynamics of this AU and how Baelor convinced people to go along with it.

I literally got so excited reading this because I think other people assumed that I was just putting Alyssa into akotsk naturally but it really is a time travel AU!!

A TLDR of it is; She wakes up on the shores of the Red Keep in around 205 AC after originally walking into the sea after hearing about Aemond's death. Baelor ends up stumbling upon her while she's frantically asking for her mother Rhaenyra and he's like "Now hold on...why is this girl saying that her mother is Rhaenyra Targaryen..." he takes her in and eventually hears her out on who she is. Baelor is genuinely one of the only people to fully believe that she's from the past and tries to help her.

To put it simply no one in the family believed him when he tried to say that Alyssa was his and Jena's daughter (aside from maybe the younger children; matarys, egg, rhae, & daella). The story was less for his family and more for the realm so that no one would question her existence within the family.

It also helps that Alyssa and Valarr really do look exactly alike.

The reason that the rest of the family goes along with his lie is because of trust. In my head they all sort of trust that Baelor wouldn't be harboring this girl if she was someone malicious or they trust that he's smart enough to know how to protect himself is she is.

I'll just talk about Valarr since you mentioned him in particular. He knows that Alyssa is not his real sister but he still treats her like one! He trusts in his father and so he has no reason to be wary around her. He likes having a "twin" and it gives him someone interesting to be around/chat with other than his little brother. He's similar to Baelor in that he's curious about what the past was like since Alyssa lived during the Dance. He likes to ask her about her own siblings/twin.

hmm... what to think about these two....

I wonder what their first interactions were like because from how I have it now alyssa arrives about four years before the tournament at ashford.

Four years is a long amount of time for her to develop dynamics with her new family members.

just thinking about alyssa's relationships with the different akotsk era characters is making me feel so giddy!! her relationship with jena dondarrion is especially interesting to me because in my head it's more tense.

there are likely many people that whisper that alyssa is baelors bastard even though she's passed off as valarr's true-born twin which hurts jena because a part of her wonders "is this my husband's bastard and he's come up with this elaborate tale to raise her here??"

she's someone who I picture as very protective over her own children so imagine being randomly told "hey you have to pretend this girl is your daughter." She's worried about what alyssa's presence even means for her own children and their safety.

alyssa's whole existence honestly requires a lot of lying from a lot of people because the truth just wouldn't be believed by many.

༄.° the secret princess. — Princess Alyssa Targaryen's existence was a shock to the realm and the revelation that she was the twin to Prince Valarr was an even bigger surprise. The Princess was formally brought out into the eye of court during her and her brother's name-day as they both turned six and ten.

Prince Baelor and Lady Jena threw an extravagant masquerade ball to celebrate their two eldest children becoming adults.

Princess Alyssa soon became a well liked figure in the eyes of noblemen who whished to have ties to the royal family. Her parents had received more marriage proposals for their daughters hand then they had for their son, though he was already set to marry Kiera of Tyrosh.

Prince Baelor was firm in telling every Lord that he would not betroth his daughter to just any young lordling if she did not show interest.

He valued her happiness above all else.

"The last thing Alyssa remembered before she woke up was deafening silence. Her mind had all but slipped away and the last thought she had was of her family. She thought of her brothers faces, with tufts of brown hair and deep dark eyes. She thought of her parents, of happy smiles and warm dinners. She wished that she could be with them again. The cold touch of the waves drowned everything out, and for how long she could not say. But eventually she awoke on the shore." — ALYSSA I, DREAMS OF SEAS

༄.° the hidden daughter. — Alyssa Targaryen, was the well kept secret of her father, Prince Baelor Targaryen. The Prince did his best to keep his daughter by his side when she made her first public appearance at the tournament at Ashford. It's unknown as to why the Prince kept his only daughter hidden from the realm for so many years, but many whispered that the girl was touched with madness and often spoke of a time long passed.

A time where war ravaged the realm and dragons roamed the skies.

This quote made me think of Syrea and Aegon:

“You see, my father is a ‘collector.’ He buys everything that is considered a unique work of art—not because he appreciates art, but he likes to own things. He would like to own everything, if possible, especially beautiful things. I used to think I was part of his collection of objets d’art . . . and he meant to keep me for himself, not to enjoy, but to keep others from enjoying what was his.”

THIS SCARED THE SHIT OUT OF ME. I FORGOT I TURNED ANON BACK ON AND THOUGHT THIS WAS ABOUT TO BE AN INSANE MESSAGE 😭😭😭

You're so right though with this quote! Aegon very much does everything he can to keep Syrea by his side. I've mentioned before that while he was alive she remained unmarried because he literally would not let any Lord try to wed her.

"While her father King Aegon lived, Princess Syrea remained unmarried due to his refusal to allow any of the Lords of Westeros or their sons to wed her. Syrea remained right at his side(...)"
"He declared that no Lord of Westeros or their sons were worthy enough to wed his only daughter. "No common man can tame the fire that lives in my sweet Syrea. Any fool that tries would soon see himself in the face of Balerion."

These are two places where I mention Aegon and his unwillingness to let Syrea marry.

He's being disingenuous when he gives the reason of the men of Westeros just "not being good enough". It's just his excuse so that no one questions him on why he's keeping his adult daughter in the house still with no husband or children of her own.

༄.° the little lioness. — Princess Alyssa Lannister was the younger twin of Prince Jacaerys Lannister, and only daughter of her parents Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and Lord Jason Lannister. Between her and her brother, Alyssa was known as the more fierce sibling.

She was known for her volatile attitude and high self-esteem, but was never cruel or inconsiderate towards others. She prided herself on being the picture of a perfect Princess. She was the center of festivals and feasts and always paraded herself around in the colors of her fathers house of Lannister.

People whispered that the girl rejected her Targaryen heritage near completely. She cared little for the traditions of house Targaryen and made her detest for flying and dragons known to all.

At her heart she truly was a Lannister.

༄.° the private painter. — Casella Ladybright is the woman responsible for many of the murals that decorate the walls and ceilings of Sunspear, as well as her own home of Maidens Blessing. She also was known on occasion to paint for house Dayne as a gift for her beloved friend Ashara.

However after the Rebellions end and subsequent death of her aunt who ruled during her youth, the young Casella became the Lady of Maidens Blessing which left her little time to indulge in her hobby.

It's very rare to see the stoic woman enjoying much of anything after the war.

⚖️ — how are they remembered by history? are they loved, reviled, or something in between? is there anything the history books omit from their life?

The historians don't think of her too kindly and borderline slander her in the history books. The main reason is because she's known as a kinslayer for being the one to kill Maegor while on her dragon.

Kinslaying is like one of the worst things you could do in the eyes of the westerosi. Even though Syrea did the realm a great service getting rid of Maegor, she still murdered her younger brother at the end of the day.

As for omissions... I mean no one aside from Syrea herself would know about the weird ass relationship she had with her father. There might be mentions of rumors but they're quickly shot down as being 'unfounded'.

Aside from the thing with Maegor shes mostly known as a spoiled princess that didn't do much compared to her brothers.

🏔️— is your ocs favorite region of westeros that of their own house, or somewhere else? is there a place in the seven kingdoms they’ve never been but would love to see and explore? alternatively, do they have a favorite keep / castle?

This was a little hard to answer only because I can't see her really having a favorite region of Westeros. I'm gonna say the westerlands or the reach because she thinks they have the prettiest girls and that's really her main criteria. ☝️🙂‍↕️

As for keeps/castles she loves the eyrie!! she likes being in the air on her dragon so a whole castle in the air is awesome to her.
