Reread John Wyndham's The Day of the Triffids last year. I'd sit in my garden and read, overlooked by potentially the largest Scottish thistle I've ever seen. It'd nod in the breeze, towering over me, as I read about the Triffids lurching from their planted beds to wander the English countryside. Spooky stuff. Triffids are a design challenge I revisit a lot - this was a stab at them from about a year ago.
Caliing this one done even though I think it needs a boat or some figures/animals to complete it. Didn't plan this one well and the groyne became an excercise in self-flagellation really quickly haha. Thought I'd include some wips as I had them about. Inspired by my trip last year to Mull in the Inner Hebrides 🚢
I looooooove your art so much T_T its so expressive and it really showed on your TF2 art blog that you're a part of the industry, like the shape language of how you draw the characters and such! and how stylized it is in general....so I'm really happy to see that you've made a blog for your other art too :D!! very inspiring work, thank you for sharing both your fandom and non-fandom stuff
Ahhh thank you so much! ;; I love stylisation...give me those shapes! TF2 has a pretty shapey base to work off of - so we're all just standing on the shoulders of the excellent work already done for us :D As a side note SO MANY excellent artists operate specifically within the tf2 fandom...maybe i dont stick my head into what other fandoms are doing but i swear the level of excellent artists is really high. it's very daunting! im hoping ill see/meet a lot of y'all on the job in a few years and we can give each other knowing glances
