I bring a kind of frozen deer vibe to situations that the headlights really seem to like
something that's so fun about this werewolf au is imagining all the interesting little rituals and stuff werewolves might have, either as a social or cultural practice.
per the episode the story is based on, wolves are a pretty discriminated class. what parts of their culture are they allowed to practice openly? what things are they forced to repress? how is wolf culture written into military code/practice?
all very fun knots to untangle!
love death robots episode shapeshifters you will always be famous to me <3
examples of this!! I think it's probably super common practice that there are rules of engagement that are meant to be followed, which are frequently ignored or disregarded because humans dgaf about wolf dynamics:
and there are surely collective ways that wolves greet and address each other, establish order:
and there are surely humans that are knowledgeable about wolf culture, and ways the humans and wolves engage which are similar to but different from wolf to wolf greetings:
wah anyway this was fun!!

I think Cameron Cope has been hyper-independent his whole life. That kid was cooking his own meals and packing his own lunch as soon as he could see over the countertop.
He probably called his mother Barb or Barbara instead of Mom, and signed his own permission slips, and never bothered to tell her where he was going. I think he basically lived out of a duffel bag for multiple years of his life because he couldn't be bothered unpacking. He has stuff, like posters and trinkets and knickknacks, but all things that are easily folded and shoved in a bag and chucked in the boot of a car.
His bags are always packed. He's always ready to leave, and he doesn't trust anyone. Obviously this lack of attachment makes him a really good Marine; it probably makes him a pretty bad boyfriend.
I think he's been taking care of himself for so long it doesn't even occur to him that someone else might care to do it until he starts seeing Sullivan, and he comes home one day and Sullivan is there cooking. Or like, washing up, or has purchased groceries.
I think it blows his mind the first time he realises that Sullivan is taking care of him. Sullivan is enjoying having a moderately normal--but obviously still secret--relationship, and Cam is halfway convinced that this is all some kind of elaborate ruse, because people only treat each other like this in movies and this is real life, Liam, you aren't supposed to make me eggs the morning after!
and naturally Sullivan is just like. What are you Talking About.
Whyyyy have I never reblogged this?! This is sooo beautiful, ah, it soothes me so much... and makes me want to start ANOTHER wip 😂 never had so many wips this in my life like right now ... And I always feel most concentrated and motivated to write while I'm at work... Whyyyyyy... 😭

okay I'm going to do my best to give you a little something since you asked so nicely and even came bearing the gift of my beloved Slovacek in gif form (for that, I will give you a longer snippet from the first chapter). Here you go:
Hope this was a decent snippet or something, lol. I usually never share sneak peeks or snippets of my works because of a couple of things:
- I have a hard time picking out what to even "tease" without giving any context because I don't want to give too much away. yet I literally don't care to have context or not when reading other's sneak peeks. but for my works, I'm all like "BUT THEY NEED THE CONTEXT TO MAKE IT MAKE SENSE😩". so yeah, this is a big reason why I'm like "no teasers. just give 'em the final thing when it's done."
- I overthink about sharing anything early on and then being like "but what if I change that later on when I edit the chapter/fic? so now that sneak peek didn't even matter if I do change or take out that/those line(s)."
