My subtitles for Seventeen Moments of Spring (Семнадцать мгновений весны) are done! You can find the full series with English subtitles on archive.org!

Set primarily in Berlin in the spring of 1945, Seventeen Moments of Spring (1973) follows a Soviet spy deep undercover as Standartenführer Max Otto von Stirlitz as he works to sabotage negotiations between Germany and America for a separate peace that excludes the USSR. Directed by Tatiana Lioznova (Three Poplars at Plyuschikha) and based on the novel by Yulian Semyonov, it stars Vyacheslav Tikhonov (War and Peace) in his career-best performance as Stirlitz.

I hope my work will be appreciated by people who either love the series already, or who might now be tempted to check it out. I seriously cannot reccommend it enough!

Went to the library and picked up Norwegian translations of War and Peace bcus even though I realized (again) this spring that I treat English as the default language to read books in even when they’re not originally in English I didn’t even think of looking for Norwegian editions when starting my W&P reread. Even though I was actively looking for a new edition with different translation + footnotes… It didn’t hit me until I told my former thesis supervisor I was rereading it and he asked ‘in Norwegian?’ and inside I was like well obviously no—wait why not
