In Uganda on 09th January 2023, that's when candidate classes from some schools have reported back to start up first term as last year's third term was cut short due to #ebola out break. Finally, we are in our final destination on introduction of Lindyhop and Swing Dance in Northern Uganda. We have arrived today in Kitgum safely and ready to start the workshops with dancers here. We moved with some of our dancers from Heart of Dance African Rhymes who have been dancing it for more than two years to inspire, encourage and motivate more dancers here to pick up interest on the dance. Second day of the workshop in Lira. Swing dance is a group of social dances that developed with the swing style of jazz music in the 1920s–1940s, with the origins of each dance predating the popular "swing era". Hundreds of styles of swing dancing were developed; those that have survived beyond that era include Lindy Hop, Balboa, Collegiate Shag, and Charleston. Today, the best-known of these dances is the Lindy Hop, which originated in Harlem in the early 1930s. While the majority of swing dances began in African American communities as vernacular African American dances, some influenced swing-era dances, like Balboa, developed outside of these communities. Obviously, I can’t speak for all smart people. I’m not even all that smart, truth be told. Maybe a bit above average. Quiet, intelligent people tend to listen to what others have to say and then process it making a determination on whether it is BS or not. Seriously, that’s what I do in 90% of my interactions with people, listen and think. I want to determine why the person is telling me what they are telling me. What is their angle? Are they trying to manipulate or impress me? Why? Again, my brain is processing all of this information so my mouth can’t be running like a duck’s butt at the same time. Also, when I’m talking, I really can’t learn anything. I’m just putting out information. If I’m quiet, be certain that I’m looking and listening, taking in and processing facts. Stephen Hawking once said, “Quiet people have the loudest minds.” I like that. Many people think that happiness is a result or a reward of certain things. Fame, success, love, a big house, a fancy car, achievements, hobbies, friendships, family, etc. Many people believe that each of these adds a significant amount to their happiness. Has Yoga week comes to an end today as 26th June 2022 has been one the day to remember in my life. It was of the previledge to be one of the teachers alongside @alimugisha8 and @mukisajacksonscott to teach yoga to over 600 people as the chief guest was Indian High Commission and I need to appreciate my fellow yoga teachers who trusted us to go to Jinja as share with these lovely people. What made my day is that after the session people came to me even the children to appreciate the practice and more them asking where can they keep practicing from while they are in Jinja. They share the dance with children from the Nsambya slum in Gogonyia as one of the communities they are reaching out to. Can you take down 24 bottles of soda in 10 minutes. Here are some of my students asked me one day that they need to complete on finishing up the tret of soda then we decided on minutes.
