why is the black clover fandom so dead? so little fanfics and fanart, i haven't heard a thing about that one movie (i didn't even know existed until like a couple days ago) and characters i'd imagine to be so popular are ignored.

this isn't me complaining, just an observation really.

Beauty in simplicity

Having a really long-term hyperfixation that has since faded is terrifying yes but it's also so embarrassing. Hi I used to think about Scrimblo Splungus 25/7. Yeah, for 2 years straight. Nah, I don't think about them anymore except for with a vague sense of melancholy as I recall how they used to make me feel. Anyways this new one, Blimpkins McGee? I'm gonna think about them forever and the cycle will NOT repeat in 2 years. Trust me guys.

Deidara kind of is the natural end result of a system that trains children into worshipping legacy while prepping them to find meaning in dying young at any moment while also valorizing destruction and violence.

I find myself wishing that Onoki and Iwagakure as a whole were introduced naturally in the Sasuke vs Deidara arc. Like imagine Sasuke knowing the rumors of Iwagakure’s dealings with the Akatsuki and going there to find whatever Akatsuki member he can lay his hands on to learn Itachi’s location.

We’re introduced to Onoki and his relationship with Deidara and how he remains fond of him and Dei still does missions for him as an Akatsuki even after the terrorist bombings. A direct link is made between the system and Deidara’s ideology without trying to make excuses for him either. Sasuke eventually confronts Deidara and he blows himself up with C0. The battle is probably away from the village but the shockwave is close enough to cause a lot of damage and deaths.

Onoki is forced to grapple with the fact that he essentially caused this; He caused Deidara to turn out like that and enabled his behavior and not only did his boy kill himself because of it but he also killed his people for it as well. Maybe Han and Roshi getting captured in the chaos of this arc also occurs, and we explore what dynamic they had with the village, how Onoki deprived his village of a means of protection for it. And that uneasy state of mind creates actual setup for Gaara to call out Onoki and change his mind with just a one-liner.

no but i need to talk about killer bee & yugito nii, han & roshi, and "yagura" & utakata

bee and nii canonically looked up to each other, and it's kind of implied that they respect each other the most out of any person. nii calls herself the second strongest shinobi of kumo in her standoff with hidan and kakuzu. bee gets quiet when she is mentioned post-mortem. why was nii in lightning country while bee was not allowed to leave kumo? in snippets, we can see nii pose with bravado kind of like bee.. bee heading straight to his enka professor when he escapes kumo.. nii's favorite hobby was playing shamisen.. bee, priding himself on his status as a "perfect jinchuuriki" and a sensei himself, shoving naruto's pleas for guidance away multiple times before he eventually caves... bee has to not just see nii's dead body used like a puppet, her eyes replaced and chest impaled for utility, but fight her too. he gets disturbed from how her bodys being made to fight in an imitation of her style, made uncanny by how it lacks her personality. I could go on about all the different ways bee starts to break down after this point in the story. how he protected her and the rest of the jinchuuriki's bodies until they were returned, then pushed forward his kayfabe to the point of suicidality. maybe i will later.

thanks to the crumbs from the minato manga, we can combine the overall crumbs from official material to state that han and roshi fought in tandem during the third great ninja war. we also know han is *notorious* in iwa for his performance as the "steam jinchuuriki" during this war. scrape around some more, and you can find that roshi was living outside of iwa in earth country before itachi and kisame got him. ohnoki is embarrassed over the " failure " of giving the practice of jinchuuriki a shot, and han is the only one who doesn't have some sort of information about his death nor kokuo's capture in canon or filler. iwa has hired akatsuki multiple times. in one of the games, you meet up with them and roshi complains about son getting aggressive and how he'll need to spar to please him. han apologizes for not being able to help him this time, implying this as a regular problem he would help him with.

why does no one acknowledge the elephant ( obito ) in the room ( kirigakure and the body of yagura karatachi ) when talking about yagura and utakata. i've done too much timeline math over the years to recall to lay it out now, but obito would've had yagura under the genjutsu from utakata's early teens to his early twenties - he was still under the genjutsu when utakata had to flee kiri. and utakata was still on the run when obito was released and yagura was officially dead. using the existence of kagura as a timeline marker, yagura was at *least* 10 years older than utakata, and could have been made mizukage while utakata was still small. it could be asked how much did they see/know each other, given the age gap and inferred class difference ( yagura *karatachi* is the ruler, utakata has no surname and inferred to be part of a clan that might have formed from conflict given the practice of jutsu only performed by the second mizukage ). but i am far more interested in how utakata felt about "yagura". that sudden shift. regardless of distance, utakata was unsafe by virtue of a kid not that much older than him completely controlling a man meant to protect him. where do you begin with that? i mean i guess at the fact "yagura" played the long game with utakata. sure, utakata fled kiri at 19 and remained on the run until he died. but obito got the akatsuki onto jinchuuriki hunting. two years after "yagura" dies, obito has A Guy Who Is Six People finally reel him in. utakata took out two of the pains, sure, but still gets beaten until he can't move and dragged to get his bijuu slowly torn out of him because that's the way obito likes it. it mirrors what made utakata flee in the first place, but his master's extraction attempt in comparison almost seems kind.

this is part 1. i cant post the FULL one on here for some reason but here is the link to the full writing on AO3 ! pairing: dark!shikamaru x female reader

oneshot au set around two years after the fourth shinobi war where Shikaku DIDNT die because he doesn't deserve that

words: 12467 (had to seperate into two parts because it's so long, OOPS.)

warnings: extremely toxic relationship, NSFW smut, swearing, cheating on partners, general scumbag behaviour from both parties, dependancy

summary: you and Shikamaru have been messing around for years now - never making things official, making eachother jealous in sick games, purposefully going back and forth to eachother, arguing, hating, fucking. now after months of not speaking to him after he got a new girlfriend, you decide its time to cause chaos in his life again.

Yandere! Footballer who uses his fame to get you. He makes subtle hints that he's dating someone. But who?

You, of course!

He makes subtle slip ups in an interview, cryptic Instagram posts and other things that lead fans to your Instagram. All of a sudden, hate comments flood your notifications.

"How dare you get with him?"

"Is it true you hunted him down just to fuck him for some clout?"

"I can't believe you're in it for the money."

Those are the tamer ones. The other comments/dms you would get include calling you mean names like "whore", "bitch", and other depravity you would not ever talk about.

You're a normal person that posts once in a while, or every so often, not because you have fans to post for. You try to push it off and convince yourself it's all going to die down soon enough but he doesn't let it. There's posts that fans psychoanalyze for no reason and somehow it comes back to you?

It's all alleged until he starts following you, and all hell breaks loose.

Being the gentleman that he is, he finally appears at your doorstep with flowers. He gives you that empathetic look and asks, "do you wanna talk?"

Biting your lip in hesitation, you agree to let him in.

"I don't want this," you start.

"I know you don't, but I want to give you a choice," he elaborates.

You take a deep inhale, ready for whatever he's about to propose but you don't know the true weight of the future.

"It's either you bear being known as a "slut" to everyone, or you actually come home with me and we sort things out," he watches you in amusement. "I can make the parasocial fans disappear with one story, as long as we make it official."

"I-" you want to say something, to fight back, but nothing goes past your lips.

"So?" he uses one finger under your chin to make you look at him.

"I-I don't know what to say..." you mutter.

"Just come with me, it's the safer option of the two, no?" he asks, a spark in his eyes that sends shivers down your spine. Possessiveness? Lust? Control? You have no idea, but what you do know is you never wanted this.

"A-are you kidding?" you blurt out.

His expression turns dark. "Do you think I'm joking about this? Is me soft launching us a joke to you?"

"What— no!" you exclaim.

"Alright then, what's your choice?" he asks. "I'll give you some time to think about it."

He leaves you alone in your apartment— thinking and confused.
