Hello,

It's about time I introduced myself properly. I'm Nino. I'm a published comic artist and this is my secret side account where I draw fanart and stuff. I originally created an account here because I had drawn some fanart for a fanfiction and didn't know where else to post it (I now only use my main account on Insta for my comic). It turned out that I really like it here, so I stayed :)

Besides, I had really forgotten how much fun I have drawing fan art, just sketching, without ink, experimenting. At a certain point, I just stopped because I didn't have time anymore, because I was only producing pages. In the future, I want to take more time for it again.

Thanks to everyone who liked, reblogged, and commented on my drawings here. I see every single interaction and am always incredibly grateful for it, but sometimes I feel a little overwhelmed. I'll try to respond more in the future, but just so you know, I really appreciate everything. I also created a side account on Insta and Twitter (no, I'll never call it x). Nope, this account isn't dead. Sorry for the long absence—I've had a few stressful weeks because of work. Anyway, I'm back. I've read “How to Disappear Completely” by Peachstatic—it's awesome. I'm a simple person: when I think something is awesome, I have to draw it.

oc art again. I created the secret account for fan art, but it seems it’s more of a “I’m drawing again in the style I feel comfortable with” account (don't worry, I'll still be drawing fan art). Since my current project seems to be coming to an end—or at least taking a long break—I’m slowly starting to work on something new. This time, I want to try writing the story myself. I’ve never done that before. I’ve always collaborated with an author or adapted existing scripts. On the last project, I helped out a bit with the story and learned a lot, but it still feels a bit overwhelming. I have a somewhat thought-out story and pages of mind maps that I’m using to try to connect emotional arcs with the overarching plot. Maybe I’m overthinking everything a bit too much, but I want to get it right. Anyway, when my head is too full, it helps me to make illustrations where I cram in as much as possible of what I associate with the story and the characters. BTW, I recycled the characters—they’re from an old, very cringey story I wrote as a teenager, but I liked their dynamic, so I decided to keep them and put them in the new setting.  I think I’ll post something here every now and then about my process, since I kind of miss talking about the wip. That was always what I enjoyed most about working in a team. 

Here’s another scene from “There is a wait so long” by Urie. It’s from Chapter 6. I warned you I wouldn’t stop, XD. I’ve wanted to draw this for a while now. I love how food keeps playing a role in this fic, and I could just picture Mike and Will sitting in the diner, passionately discussing every detail of their comic series so well.

sneak in some OC designs. I created this account mainly for fan art, but I've been having so much fun drawing in this style lately (I draw in a different style for work) that I dug up and reworked a few designs from an old story I never actually used.

Another “there is a wait so long” fanart. Nope, I’ll propably never gonna shut up about how great this fanfic is. Last Chapter was so peak! 

I didn't expect that reading about all White-Girl wasted Will in a bunny costume and jealous Mike vampire Wheeler at Lucas' bachelor party would heel my season 5 trauma, but here I am xD 

The best tip I can give is simple: just draw! And don't be afraid to draw new things. Never think it's too difficult or that you can't do it; see it as a challenge. I've been drawing every day for years. I've drawn over 200 pages of comics and have always seen it as a tool for telling the story. If something was difficult to draw, I just had to figure it out so that the story wouldn't be affected. That helped me a lot to improve my skills. When it comes to books, I can recommend the “How to Draw Manga” series. I learned a lot of basics about anatomy and perspective with it. I also find it very helpful to learn about animation, even if you don’t want to animate. It really helps you understand body language and Movement.
