i’ve been wanting a tattoo based on the star for a long while and i decided to wait to draw it out until i was happy with my art style! because i love and own the original rider-waite deck, i wanted to keep the background as close as possible without tracing it, obviously. I free handed with a reference so i had an idea of how it should be in my style. i really wanted it to be with a mermaid because i feel like it’s really personal to me. this card in specific means a lot to me. it’s the card of looking up and seeing that things will get better, a card of emotional relief, if you will. plus, i’m an aquarius and this card aligns with my sign qwq
