The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as He said.”
Matthew 28:5-6
The massive rock that had sealed the tomb had been rolled away! His body wasn't there. The Roman guards must have been scared stiff. The women who came to the tomb that morning were perplexed and fearful. “I know that you are looking for Jesus. . . . He has risen, just as He said He would." said the angel. “Come and see the place where He lay, then go quickly and tell His disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead." the angel added.
The women did just that! They quickly ran and told the disciples the good news. They were witnesses to the resurrection! The resurrection of Jesus changed their lives upside down. With boldness and courage, they proclaimed the good news to the world. Today, 2,000 years later, we too like the disciples must proclaim, “He has risen!”
