After four hours on the road, you finally passed the sign marking the entrance to the small town. The coastal highway had felt endless. You drove through gentle hills before reaching the heart of the village, where a few modest establishments lined the narrow streets.

You knew what was waiting for you—a small, idyllic town—but even so, the retro charm of the downtown area caught you off guard. It was like a pocket of time frozen in place, with shopfronts displaying modern signs over worn wooden frames. No buildings rose taller than three stories, their colors faded but were still vibrant in the afternoon light.

“Ever gone boating?” Wonbin asked.

You eyed him warily. “No.”

“Great.” That was your only warning before he pulled you toward a small boat, casually untying it from the dock.

“Wait—what if I get seasick?” you protested.

“You won’t.”

“How do you know?”

“We’ll find out when we get there,” he chuckled, offering a hand to help you board the boat.

You hesitated, but you took his hand anyway. He had never done anything to disappoint you so far, so you trusted him. And despite your initial wariness, you had to admit—it was nice.

The air was crisp, the water was calm, the reefs below were beautiful, and the calm was comforting.

At one point, Wonbin leaned back against the bow of the boat, stretching his arms before making a pillow of his hands. “You like it here, don’t you?”

You glanced at him. “I do.”

He grinned. “I’d bet fifty bucks you'll never leave.”

You scoffed. “Never leaving is a stretch. Maybe I’d never want to, but I will anyway because I have to.”

Wonbin flashed a mischievous smile as if you had just challenged him. “A hundred, then. You will never want to leave, and you never will. You'll fall in love with a very eligible and very charming man, get married and have beautiful babies. Then you'll spend your life with him in this beautiful town.”

You furrowed your brows, then stared at him skeptically like you couldn't believe he just said that. Wonbin's grin never wavered.

“Looks like you've been watching too much TV with the ladies. You're starting to cook up very unrealistic storylines.”

“What's so unrealistic about that?”

“The whole thing,” you retorted, scoffing. “Especially the 'very eligible and very charming man' part.”

“Okay, so bet,” he challenged. “Since you're so confident that I'm wrong.”

You rolled your eyes. “You're ridiculous.”

“Are you gonna play or not?”

“No,” you replied without missing a beat. “I don’t need to prove anything to you.”

Wonbin sighed nonchalantly, leaning back down. “Fine. But I know I’m right.”

You didn't say anything to that. Was he right? About the falling in love and getting married part? Oh, no, he's wrong about that.

But what about leaving this place? You weren't sure. You knew you will eventually, but the thought of leaving this wonderful place hasn't crossed your mind yet.

More importantly, you weren't sure when it happened, but somewhere between juicy pears and getting lost in town, between late afternoon coffees and spontaneous boat rides, you had started to enjoy his company. And maybe he had started to enjoy yours, too.

STOP 😭 You didn't come find me sooner, so that's on you 😭

hi. i am still writing, but i'm not writing rn bcs i don't know what to write. i mean, i know what to write, but i do not know how. no, wait, i do know how to write, but--- yk what? forget it

but yeah, I'm still gonna write once I find the will to HAHAHAHA. earlier today, i went to my husband whining that I have failed the (wannabe) writer in me because it had already been six months since I last posted a fic. i said I'm struggling and i have ZERO motivation.

he made me sit in front of my computer to watch Hug and no doubt mv. because apparently, i once told him these two videos specifically, give me a dopamine boost and thus encourage me to write. which was true. i look at those visuals and my brain starts mass-producing fanfic premises.

can you blame me? hug era anton specifically makes me go; "yep. brooding and stoic but soft on the inside. she fell first he fell harder slow-burn love story coming right up."

So, yeah. I am trying to pick up where I left off. Still no dates and no promises, but writing is going well and I'll be back in no time < 33

Also, HIII. It's been a while. My dear husband recently pointed out that I haven't written anything in a while, and that was when I realized it has been over two months since my last fic.

My Tumblr app is very active. I hop on here at least once a day to see what's up, laugh at memes, and even read fics by other writers from time to time. I see everyone engaging, reblogging, and I read your asks too. It's just that life outside the comfort of writing and reading has been hectic lately, and I am barely keeeping up.
