AAAAA PHEW i just finished binding a bunch of new zines that compile my PNW fantasy sketch pages :”) just in time for when I get to table at the Portland Zine Symposium tomorrow!!!!! if anyone’s in the area come say hi!!!

I’ve loved walking through this event for several years now, I’m so happy that i get the chance to table this time 🥹🥹🥹

(Since I'm tabling this weekend and next, I might be a little slow sending them out, but i'll do my best to do it asap, definitely within 2 weeks! Thank you ;v; )

So this zine managed to sell out twice, and your guys' support on it kinda actually changed my life. ( <- I've been anxious to say it that bluntly,.. but it's true.) Thank you, seriously ;_;

For this reprint, I made a new cover (since the old one was just a repeat of one of the inner illustrations), and also added one more ecoregion: The High Desert :D So now it has:

  • The Coast Range
  • The Valley
  • The Cascades
  • The High Desert

I'm definitely going to expand on this idea into a bigger project as soon as I have a bit more time-- like an actual book :") But this will be the final version of the zine! Thanks so much again yall.

Thank you again everyone :”)

IN LIGHT OF SHIPPING UPDATES... (price has gone up 70%+ in the last year), I've made it so you can choose two shipping options: Default Shipping: $7 Includes tracking number, no bending Large Envelope (enter code "NO-TRACKING" at checkout): $3.75 off No tracking number, experiences a little bending in the mail (the zine is very sturdy so it should be perfectly fine)

Hi!! I got a print of A Friend in The Alley a few months back and I just wanted to let you know I love it very dearly :] I have a little black cat of my own and every time I see your art on my wall I see his big eyes in the work you did, and it makes my day a little brighter 🫶 hope your day is well!!

OMG T_T I'm so happy to hear that!! Thank you!!! Please give your voidkitty many pets for me......

I've been studying botany lately for the art book I'm working on, and, while not getting tooo bogged down in scientifically accurate things, still happily trying to apply some little details while drawing the flowers in my recent pieces :D thinking about what makes each specific flower itself.... that sort of thing 🌸🌺🌼🌻🌷🌹

Dragons are one of my favorite mythical creatures and you draw them SO FREAKING MYSTICAL AND WHIMSY, like I’d love to live in one of your drawings forever and finally feel peace. Would you happen to have any tips for a wannabe fantasy artist? I’m just redoing fundamentals at this point and have no idea what to even work on next and every time I see your work I just get so inspired ahhhh

THANK YOU so much! ;_; wow that means a lot..

HMM well, beyond fundamentals, art tips per person will completely depend on their goals. A lot of the art I submit lately is finding themes that are important to me and expressing them in a way that can also hopefully/probably resonate with other people too.

I think looking inside yourself and asking "why" and "what story am I trying to tell" will help you find concrete information of how to improve your next specific skills.

a lot boils down to "storytelling in art" -- the language of cinematography is a great subject to look into. and after you figure out the stories you're trying to tell and why, there's 100% gonna be dozens of free + incredible resources that can tell you everything you'd ever need (who can explain better than me and are beyond my skill :D)

I just want to say that I love your art and I hope you do a BIG,hundred pages art book one day full of this beautiful drawings you make,hard cover and all. I'm gonna be the first one buying it 🥰

I'M CRYING THANK YOU T_T!!!

that means a lot to hear rn because i've actually spent the majority of my time lately working on an art book (tho unfortunately i also had the terrible idea to give it a Plot (TM) so it's becoming 100x more labor-intensive than it needs to be) and...

I know financially books aren't... a great idea to pursue, but I just want to at least try! so, the interest means a lot ;_;!

so there's this shrink plastic that you draw on and then heat and it shrinks... I was thinking I could make a keychain with it. Could i trace one of your dragons onto it? Only for myself obviously, but they're really cool and i love dragons so.

OMG SHRINKY DINKS 😭

Yes please go ahead! In general yeah I'm totally fine with people referencing/tracing/printing my art for personal use.

But yeah. This sounds super cute, I'd really love to see if you do get around to it! ;v;

(asking anonymously so as not to dox myself)

i took my copy of your pacific northwest dragons zine to spokane's zinefest this last weekend! whenever someone gave me something for free i would 'trade' showing them the zine in exchange, and it never failed to delight them. genuinely i adore it. we were all there like i've been there! i know those plants! i'm happy to see your post on expanding the idea, and i wish you luck with it :)

OMG thank you so much, what the ;____; that’s so cool!!!

tbh, that whole project started as a way for me to familiarize myself with the exact trees/plants/flowers i see everyday yet didn’t necessarily know all the names/how to identify them. i’m honored my rough observational sketches were still somehow recognizable. lol thank you again ;_;

(btw i adore spokane it’s so beautiful here i just got here but do not want to leave)

Hi! I bought a copy of your PNW dragons zine, and it came in the mail today! It's so gorgeous. I really just wanted to thank you for including the desert in it. I no longer live in Washington and have no plans to move back for various reasons, but i grew up in the Tri cities, and it feels like everyone always forgets our part of WA exists. But the desert is just as beautiful as the mountains and the rainforest and it made me emotional to see it depicted with just as much love, care, and beauty as the forests were. I bought the zine because part of me will always be incredibly nostalgic for the place I grew up and I'm just really glad I did, it's making me feel so emotional in my kitchen right now😭💖

i’m SO UNBELIEVABLY HEART-WARMED RN, thank you so much for this message ;_; I’m happy to hear it resonated with you!

I have lots of lovely memories there too, since my gma lived there and we would visit her a lot. both my parents and gma have passed on, but it makes me think back on those adventures even more fondly… but despite loving it i was still kinda worried it wouldn’t look as nice as the other 3 because it felt easier to “exaggerate” aspects of the rainforests; desert beauty tends to be more subtle, yet also SO vast… so basically FR im happy to hear that THANK U AGAIN ;__;
