As an aromantic who every so often mourns the fact they can't fall in love, I like to imagine that my soulmate is someone who was in a past life, or they were somehow erased from this existence.

While my mind can't remember them, or even fathom their existence which once meant everything to me, my soul does. And my soul can recognize there is no one that can fill the spot that was always only meant for them. It knows on a fundamental level that it is better to be single than to replace something that was never meant to be replaced.
