hello im maya and im making a new pinned post to be your one stop shop introduction to me/my work!!

im a fat, queer artist and author best known for my size inclusive skirts with huge pockets, and other apparel.

as well as my my queer polyamorous fantasy/romance novel, spitfire, which i recently reworked with my editor. the original/“legacy” version is still available as a self published book on amazon, but once the final touches are complete i’ll be self publishing it again using different means.

At work today, we had to do a silly icebreaker that involved "wearing as many items as possible in a minute". I was wearing my ginkgo MK skirt, so I asked if in my pockets counted as on. Got 16 clothing articles in my pockets in 1 minute 😎. Absolutely crushed the other competitors in my round.

i have a pair to, possibly from the first batch and they are nice! usually a bit too warm for the area i live in even.

I love that they are the only pants i've ever had that are short on me! instead of tripping over the hem i'm pulling it down and that's just a nice change of pace.

In the future, I might try altering them to add a seat gusset type thing. make it better to sit in.

we actually changed the pants a bit after the first run! we made them a couple inches longer and widened the pants cuffs to be more comfortable.

the elastic should still keep the pants on your ankles but should remain comfortable while doing so

if you email hello@mayakern.com we can take a look and see if there were any errors in the codes since that seems incredibly excessive

regardless i understand that closing the UK store and now having to suspend shipping to the EU is going to lose us a bunch of customers but there’s really nothing we can do about it. we’ll miss yall and do our best to survive 🥲

I've gotten so used to @mayakern pocket-related sales pitches that it took me a minute to realize that being able to fit a DVD into a pocket undetected is actually pretty impressive for women's clothing.

One of my favorite things about designing skirts is hearing where they end up. Every time you send me a photo or story, they always make my day, and I love seeing these skirts out in the world doing exactly what they were made for—twirling.
