deep in my heated rivalry era

I’m paying to force seven thousand strangers to see a photo of my late husband having fun with his dog. Tumblr Blaze is totally worth it. XD

Thank-you to all of my new Internet stranger friends for being so gracious about having my post shoved onto your dashboards. I loved reading all of your kind tags and comments! Both Martin and Bosco have been gone for several years now but for 24 hours, they felt very present in my life. I greatly appreciate this gift. ❤️

Reblog to have your dashboard be visited by the spirit of joy that death can end but not erase.

summary:

Eddie made his way to the bar, pointedly ignoring pretty eyes as he ordered, his anxiety suddenly taking over. He’d only been in town for a few weeks and hadn’t met many people other than those he worked with. He didn’t make a habit of going out, his priorities being between his son and work, but his coworkers had insisted he would love this place, and since Chris was with his Abuela for the night, he’d thought, what the hell?

“So, are you one of those real cowboys, or just one who dresses like ‘em?”

Eddie swallowed thickly when he realized the voice had come from his left, those curls coming into view as he turned a tinge to meet the guy.

“Depends. Are you a real douchebag, or one who just acts like ‘em?”

Notes: This is a silly I yelled at @lieselfh and @blaidddrwg1982 about and said I would do nothing with, which goes to show I can’t be trusted with anything 🤷As one angry crocheter to another, I just really think he’d like it, you know?

so darlin’, save the last dance for me

“I’m wearing a wedding ring! Do I have to get ‘property of Buck Diaz’ tattooed on my forehead?”

“Oh, Buck would love that,” Lena laughs.

“He really would,” Eddie muses with a grin. “He’d get a matching one. Might help with all the thirsty single parents he deals with at his job.”

“Doesn’t he have your wedding photo prominently displayed in his office?”

“And like ten photos of us with Christopher, yep,” Eddie agrees. “Doesn’t stop people from trying.”

Or: "Eddie Diaz drinks his ‘I fucking love my husband’ juice for ANOTHER 6,000 words”, feat: Dad!Buck, mother hen Eddie, and Pride celebrations with the 118.

sequel to call you home aka married buddie my BELOVED, 6k, minor madney and henren.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Do I look straight?!”
Hen’s head snaps up from her book just in time to watch an irritated Eddie march into the loft, the rest of the team on his heels. Hen had been the man behind today, and with her chores completed she’d just been getting into her book but - this is much more interesting.
“Um. Not sure what answer you’re looking for here, bud.”
Eddie jerks the fridge open and retrieves a bottle of water, his mouth still twisted. Lena and Chim flop onto the couches near Hen while Bobby stations himself at the kitchen bench, looking amused.
Gesturing broadly to his own body, Eddie asks again. “Do I give off the vibe that I want to be hit on by middle aged women while I’m trying to do my job?”
Chim snorts. “Oh, Eddie. That last lady was well into her sixties.”
Spluttering, Eddie crumples his empty water bottle. “That’s worse! I’m queer, married, and twenty years too young for her.”
That’s how Eddie feels, not long out of the army recovering from an injury and even more recently widowed from his wife. He doesn’t know what to do next. He does know El Paso isn’t where he wants to be. So since he needs to keep a promise to Shannon to visit her dying mother, why not head to Los Angeles? At least there he has family more understanding than his parents.
Only, life apparently doesn’t want to keep Eddie and Christopher in Los Angeles either. In fact, a surprise inheritence leads them to a place they could never have dreamed of. A whole new existence, in fact. With a new home, more money than Eddie knows what to do with, and a great new group of friends. Also, animals.
In the middle of nowhere, Eddie and Christopher get their start-over. In life, love, and everything else.
